i think we might as well bend over and give whatever Philly wants already. we all know that's going to happen eventually (see the Fitz situation) and the sooner we take our medicine, the sooner we can try to address (funny, i literally typed AVOID instead of address first... freudlan slip) our other needs that are just as big for the team.

**** them. move on to Orton.

Too late. He'll be in MIA soon. The Panthers and Cards had the most money to spend. The Panthers went nuts and got talent while the Cards held their nuts and lost talent. But hey, at least they're keeping their powder dry to blow their cap space on some player with great intangibles and boy, his moxie is off the charts!

Most people would be more content to watch this play out if the Cardinals were doing something else to bolster the roster. It seems like the entire Cardinals "aggressive" offseason plan is being held up by an inability to close a deal for Kolb. Honestly if they believe so much in Kolb that DRC and a 2nd are in the mix, make the deal even if it is a first. Fans won't like it but as an organization you have to make the deal that you want and move on. As the Cardinals stand stagnant other teams are identifying players, making offers, and closing deals.

Make fun of the Seahawks all you want, but they have acquired two young QB's in the past 2 years, have revamped their entire o line with Okung, Unger, drafted James Carpenter and John Moffitt this year, and now have signed Robert Gallary. They traded for Lynch and are in hot pursuit of Sindey Rice. They are executing a plan. We aren't.

Mark it down, we will get to the end of the offseason and our underwhelming roster will be blamed on a free agent market that was different than expected, and due to our trade taking time, some of the pieces we were targeting were gone.

It is not all gloom and doom, it just seems that the Eagles are dictating our offseason progress. Sign Sendlein, address an o-line in shambles, add an impactful defensive starter, get a true number 2 wide receiver or even sign our draft picks. But do something other than resigning our P, signing a blocking TE, and trying work out a deal for a QB with a team that is in no hurry.

God our o-line pisses me off. Current players Brandon Keith, Levi Brown, Rex Hadnot, Jeremy Bridges and D'Anthony Batiste and ??? Are you kidding me? Why even trade for a QB if this is what we are going to be working with?

This is what I was afraid of also. Our front office will do very little if anything until this Kolb thing is settled. Our record last year was not solely due to poor QB play. Our D was bad and our OL needs help also.

I'm actually more worried about the OL than the other 2.......Kolb will be a decent QB and we have a new DC.

Didn't Kolb have some concussion problems? I gotta imagine that Philly has a better OL than we do. I won't expect him to start every game for us. We should be just as interested in signing a backup as Philly is.

Honestly I think the Eagles OL was about as bad as ours.

Friend of mine in Philly is telling me the radio stations are talking about DRC plus 2 picks. Implications being we refused to give a 1st or 2nd along with DRC and may have offered DRC plus something like a 3rd and 7th or 4th and 6th. Or something like that. If the Philly sports radio rumor is correct I refuse to believe we would give DRC, a 2nd plus another pick. But we shall see, so many rumors and all of them cant be true.

We would have to be absolutely nuts to give DRC and a 2nd or 3rd for Kolb. We might end up with the #1 pick in the draft next year. I cannot believe I am even reading such a suggestion. I am going to the bathroom and throw up.

The Cardinal 'brain trust' must have read Cheese's post. :bang::bang::bang:

They are either channeling Mike Ditka and think they have found the QB version of Ricky Williams, *or* Andy Reid really does have some interesting pictures of Whisenhunt.

Sounds like Clayton was right.

While Rome burns Graves plays his fiddle:

"ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that there has been progress in the talks between the Eagles and Cardinals in the trade for Kevin Kolb and that a deal will be done within 48 hours. Schefter says the deal will include pro bowl corner Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and a draft pick. The question is now is whether that will be a first or second round pick or whether it would be conditional depending on how Kolb plays or other factors.

Either way, the prevailing feeling around the league is now that the deal will get done. It makes sense with Matt Hasselbeck signing in Tennessee and Kyle Orton reportedly on the verge of a move to Miami. Really, the QB market has shrunk down to Kolb as the only viable QB left and the Cardinals as the only viable destination. So, if the two sides were playing a leverage game, it's basically over. The Cardinals can't sell Marc Bulger as their starter or the likes of John Skelton either. Kolb is the only real guy left and they are desperate for a QB."

This team's FO cannot walk and chew gum at the same time.

Being reported on the NY sports talk shows that this deal is done... DRC and 2 picks for Kolb. They even said it will be finalized on Friday...

Philly/'s QBs were a lot more mobile too.

Ya, most of those are Mike Vick sacks which count as 2 DA/Hall/Skelton sacks. lol

Philly's Oline was definitely worse than ours. Not very comforting but the whole "Kolb will not be able to play behind our Oline" argument doesn't hold much water in terms of comparisons.

Ofcourse Kolb also got hurt behind philly's oline so.... lol Hopefully our Oline will improve and Kolb will stay healthy if he's the guy. Just want something to get done so we can get excited.

I never know where to get stats such as this but I'd imagine this point is offset by the fact that we had so few drives last year. Fewer plays means fewer opportunities to get sacked.
