Yes he did. Skelton has been downright awful away from home.

He did have one really good road game. He threw for 315 yards and 3 TDs...he did throw 2 picks but that was the best road game I can remember from him by a long shot...but I guess that is the exception for Skelton.

There is no way Kolb does not start. Whiz would be crucified if he started Skeloton after two victories in a row against good opponents. There should not even be a consideration. Not that Kolb was all world but he did what he needed to do to win and showed heart in doing it. This from a guy who has been very much anti Kolb.

Note that Whiz is also very superstitious. I just don't see him making a switch.

He has improved from his running out of the pocket garbage. But he had some bad misses today. He missed Heap on an easy TD, And he missed LSH on a wide open dump off that would of been a huge gain.

But he has improved.

The one to LSH was weird though Kolb led him forward and LSH slowed up like he was expecting the throw right at him. I'm not entirely sure that was all on Kolb.

The miss to Heap was bad though he can't throw that route to save his life.

I have no problem with Kolb if he's going to continue to actually hang in the pocket. That being said it's not like he played great today. He missed Heap on a TD early in the game... He missed a key third down conversion where he had Hyphen on a little swing pass with blockers but he threw the ball too low...

He threw a lousy fade in the end zone to Fitz..

Left a lot of completions/big plays out there, but overall both guys are acceptable (for now) as long as they avoid the turnovers.. Both guys do enough for 3-4 drives a game to get us points and our defense/specials are clearly the backbone of the team..

I go with Kolb next week and reevaluate after that

While I have no problem with Kolb starting next week, we need to stop overstating his accomplishments here. The Pats D was so good last year that they were ranked dead last. They've improved but they aren't exactly all world

This, Kolb's performance wasn't any better than Skelton's during the first half last week. If Skelton hadn't completed his last pass fora first down Kilb would not have had much of a chance to lead a winning drive.

Kolb limited his mistakes, played well in the pocket and did a solid job of game management. He didnt have a good game, but he didnt stink up the joint either, our defense is so good that we can probably win with that level of play on most occasions. Ride with what works, if Kolb comes out and is back to being Kolb we can always give him the hook.

But really, the guy is such a limited QB. It kills me to see our talent being wasted on a QB like Kolb, who cant complete a downfield pass to save his life, and a QB like Skelton, who attempts far too many "hero" throws.

But I dont think we will have to sweat next weeks QB call. I doubt Skelton will be ready for another week or 2. His "questionable" status all week despite being carted off and not doing anything in practice reeked of an effort to screw with New England's game planning. Until he gets a few days in a row of real practice in then I am certain he wont play.

I will give Kolb his due. He played BETTER than I expected. BUT he did not do anything IMO to take the starting job from a guy who got hurt. He looked good in the first half but then started his antsy running around garbage again in the second half. That was a huge win for this team. But there is no doubt in my mind that Skelton wins that game as well. The Defense and ST won that game, not Kolb and his 140 yards. Whis has always said you dont lose your job to injury and I expect he will not change.

With that said, I doubt Skelton plays again until he is 100% not 95% at least as long as Kolb continues to be manage games like he did.

I don't think Kolb was antsy. He was moving with a purpose and making things happen when protection legitimately broke down. Previously, his chicken sans head act was before protection broke down, and he'd run basically into sacks.

There is NOTHING wrong with running out of the pocket, especially when your LT is getting manhandled and guys are at your back. As long as he's composed, which he was, it's fine. Skittish is another thing entirely.

And yes, you beat the Pats on the road, you keep playing. Scored from within 5 yards twice, which is something this team reallly struggles to do.

This is the way to go. Interceptions are the key and Kolb has thrown fewer than Skelton. However, 55.5% completion rate and 5.2 yards per attempt are not great numbers. They're not even mediocre numbers. But they're all we need.

This is an absolute no brainer. If Kolb does not start then the coach should be sent packing. He will be playing against his former team. How fitting it would be to beat them. I had us down for 3 possible losses to open the season. I sure did not want Skelton to be injured but it may have worked out better for the team. I really do not think Kolb will be able to play the entire season without an injury so I expect at some point we will see Skelton again. I was really impressed by Kolb standing in the pocket, running the ball. and escaping. The only way he ran last year was backwards so where did he find his heart. Those wins had to help his confidence immensely and may have saved his career. It is easy to get over hyped after only two games but why not we deserve it if anyone does.

The tough boy in this league right now is San Francisco. I think there QB may be their downfall before the season is over. Maybe I am wrong but watching his closely he leaves something to be desired. What they have is a monster defense which is also our strength. I bet the Vegas bookies do not make us a 2 TD underdog anymore this year.

No one is saying much about Feeley but I want to say he has been an excellent kicker this year. Fifty yards and inside he remains deadly and is more often than not putting the ball into the end-zone. He sure got p---of when our kick returner chose not to return the ball late in the game and use us some time. He was jumping up and down like a jumping jack when the runner took a knee. He obviously was very into the game.

The last 2.5 minutes of yesterdays game had to be one of the strangest endings to a game I have seen perhaps ever. Our emotions did a complete 180 in a matter of seconds. Our runner Williams went from the runner from hell to just a bad fumble and actually a bad call by Whiz or who ever made that call. Even I the non professional thought that a dumb play even before they ran it. To run the ball on that type of play presented the opponent with the best chance for a fumble. Williams was hit from behind with the helmet right on the ball. I am not sure he could have held on to it if he had both arms around it. That may have been the best teaching experience he has had so far and I hope it was for Whiz also. I wonder if Whiz realized how bad a call that was after the fumble or even if he ever considered having the QB taking a knee. If the QB had taken a knee NE would have got the ball back deep in their territory, no timeouts. with about 15 seconds left or less. Had the runner not fumbled they would likely have got it back with about 10 seconds left (i think). Anyway it all worked out so what ever we did was right in hindsight.

What were the odds of the FG being missed? I read just over 20%, Some say and I agree that NE sould have tried to move the ball closer as they had about 55 seconds or so before using up the time . Bellicheck may have dorked up himself. in hindsight. Of course he did not want to risk a fumble as our defense had been tough all day. You can bet that the kicker had Campbell on his mind during that kick as he led the league in blocked kicks last year. At 6'8" with long arms, a strong rush, and a big leaper he makes any kicker under pressure do things a little bit different. His reputation may have had something to do with that miss. Sure glad we signed this guy to a long contract. To those who have said he cannot tackle you need to watch that game film.

My game ball still goes to the defense. It started the last 8 games of last year and has continued. We have some tough dudes out there both in the line, LB, and DB's. Probably a lot better than the media give them credit for. Kolb had some good pockets to stand in but we still have problems running consistently. Uning some of our little runners and Peterson were some good calls and helped keep the defense honest. I think we need to add a few screens to our offense with perhaps Peterson or our kick returner. Fitz did not do much but he kept two defenders tied up all day and made at least one very good block to spring a runner around the left side. As the annoucer has said he is one of the best blocking receivers in the NL. If you watch him closely on plays you will notice he is always right there when a block is called for on his side of the field. Fitz is not only a all pro receiver but a all pro blocking recever and a ultra smart player. A winner even when he is not catching a lot of balls. Our other receivers like Doucet, etc are making big time catches in traffic. It sure feels good to win does it not. I slept much better last night as I was prepared to go to bed having nightmares about our big loss. We still are not getting the resspect we should but unti we win 5 or 6 in a row we will still just be the Cardinals. As someone posted we could well lose our DC next year as a HC. You do not accidently win as many in a row as we have won. Someone is responsible. Lets sign the guys we need to sign now if there are any such guys. Do not wait until the media recognizes them for what they are and drive up the price. If we are the new Cardinals then that is what we should do Mr. Graves. Your and whiz's job is a little safer today than it was at the start of the season. How did we come out of the game health wise?
