Not to toot my own horn, but I called 1 of our first day picks, and had another as a possibility....

Johnson's stock rose since the begining of the evaluation, and apparently so did Pace in the eyes of the Cardinals.

Pace was one of the better defenders in the ACC this year along with E.J. Henderson. He is a great athlete, that happens to play defensive end.

2. Tyrone Calico, Middle Tennessee State- I would go with either him or Bryant Johnson here, but I'm enamored more with Calico. He has elite size and speed, and would be a tremendous prospect for Sullivan and Tolbert to work with. A bit of a reach, but come back in 3 years and tell me that.

3. Calvin Pace , Wake Forest- I'm banking that he falls here, and if not, there are plenty of DE/OLB tweeners that we could take instead. Andrew Williams of Miami is another possibility. Pace is not very big (but bigger than Suggs) but has speed and the ability to rush the passer. Initially might only be a pass rush specialist, but who cares.

I'm impressed.
Too bad the Cards got the same names but are going to dish out 1st round money for a couple of projects though...

I don't really think I would label these players as projects. Bryant should be able to contribute this year, as should Pace. Pace ran a 4.6 in his campus workouts, and was very productive in college. Still not worthy of a 1st rounder, but an early second wouldn't have been so bad.

We think every draft pick should be able to contribute "this year" but the Cardinals never have them ****ing signed on time. Hopefully that all ends this year

I wish Graves would have given you a call. You could have told him he would have been available in the 3rd rd.

But I did this about a month ago....Pace would not have been there in the third. A defensive end with legit size, speed, and productivity is not going to slide to the second.

He was on the rise, but again not worthy of the 18th overall. Maybe worthy of the 37th overall! :D
