Anyone listening to Gambo/Ash right now? Here's Gambo's most recent tweet:

I do not expect Dave Griffin to pursue the GM opening for Suns. Griff responsible for Dragic, Lopez, Charlotte deal, Amundson, LB, Amare etc

i don't think it'll happen either, but you said there was no way you'd bail on the team, and i think a move might be that way, no matter how remote the possibility of it happening.

I said I'd never bail on the Phoenix Suns. If they moved to San Diego, the Phoenix Suns wouldn't exist anymore.

Sarver offers Kerr a 10 percent pay cut, (WEREN'T Sarver and Kerr friends?) knowing full well Kerr won't take that! I can't emphasize this enough, supposedly Kerr and Sarver became good friends after being introduced and you do this to your FRIEND??? Who will want to work for Sarver if that's how he treats his "friends?"

If I were going into business, or doing a business deal with Sarver, first thing I would ask, "Are you and Kerr friends?" Sarver, "Yes. In fact we are quite good friends." Me, "OK then, I am not interested in doing business with you." Sarver, "Why not?" Me, "Your friend gives you one of the best seasons in franchise history and you offer him 10% LESS in his new contract? Screwing your friends like that, I can imagine what you would try with me since I am not your friend."

I would love if our lineup next season could look something like this...

Lopez
Whiteside
Clark
Henry
Dragic

Yes it is cheap, yes we will suck but then we can spend all of our cap space under the new CBA without any burden contracts from this CBA. It is also young and pretty much should guarantee us a high lottery pick.

Heck might even check what the price for a #3-#6 pick is to draft Favors or Cousins to replace Amare.

From a long term point of view it makes sense be cheap this year and use the last year under the CBA as a transition year to rebuilding really. More than desperately trying to stay competitive to make the playoffs another 2-3 years before rebuilding.

People forget: Sarver could've blown this team up before but he's said over and over again he doesn't want to go through a rebuilding process. Whatever happens in the off-season, I suspect we'll end up with a frankenstein of mix-and-match veterans on the cheap.

Tell me again how the Suns get Whiteside and Henry in the 2010 draft. Did I miss something. Are you assuming that teams are going to be selling their draft picks. I know it happens but where are you getting this.

He's genuinely surprised at the hurt feelings people have in his organization over this.

How can he be surprised in 2010 about the same reactions people have had over his ownership style since he took over?

Umm trades and what not..

The Suns could potentially "buy" late first rounders this year also if they don't spend in FA.

From Paula Boivin's article in the Republic:

"Therein lies the problem. For an organization that was so successful this season, morale around US Airways Center remains an issue. It's the big stuff, such as having to haggle over contracts on the heels of a profitable postseason. And the little stuff, such as Jason Richardson paying for teammates' breakfasts during the playoffs when a team normally would pick up the tab."

Jesus... the bolded part is Bidwill-esque.

But like I feared, the Republic basically lets him off the hook. He should be SHREDDED for how he's treated people in this organization. He's got to have naked pictures of Nash. I can't imagine any other way that Nash believes in him and signed an extension to continue playing for this piece of work.

did anyone hear Sarver on with Gambo and Ash where he had the gall to say that there's no rush to get another GM and he doesn't even think it's necessary as they head into FA. What planet is this guy on? Is he going Jerry Jones on us? I mean, he already pretty much had a huge hand in blowing the team up when he brokered the Shaq trade by going over Kerr/DA's head by calling the Miami owner personally... is this what's really going on here?

Sarver is an exceptional liar and BS artist....no other explanation.

that's just it... he's a HORRIBLE liar/BS artist. He's freaking transparent and Nash ain't stupid, thus my belief about naked pictures.

I don't know if this matters or not, but Boivin followed up yesterday's article with another today and said that JRich paid for breakfast in Game 1 of the Portland game, but every breakfast after that was paid by the team, about $19,000 worth.

that makes me feel a little better. she wrote it like he was paying for every breakfast. that was terrifying in my mind.

i do wonder though if J Rich paying for the entire thing and criticism within the organization after trickled down to Sarver, forcing his hand to pay for the rest. but who knows. that's a very cynical way to look at it.

Certainly possible though. Although I tend to think of JRich as being a great teammate and genuinely paid for it out of the goodness of his heart. :D

Okay, I know the world of sports is a lot different that the world I live in, but come on. For $19,000, I could have breakfast at Denny's every day for 10 years and still have change coming. Probably not enough change to get my arteries cleared and my colon cleaned but still.

So you figure it was around 1200 bucks per game day for breakfast, the question is how many people? I would guess it could be as many as 20 people AT LEAST. Heck, if you bring it up to 25, that would be more like it. So that's about 45 bucks a person for breakfast. Good thing these guys are rich.

ugh... woulda could shoulda!

Nash
JJ
Marion
Stat
KT

Barbs
Raja
James Jones

That team, if everything worked out (yes, including getting JJ back and Amare not having micro-fracture)... would have MAULED people. I mean DESTROYED people... for at least 3 years.

sigh.

I know this is a thread hijack, but the Sixers just traded Dalembert to Sacramento for Nocioni and Spencer Hawes.
