Better off silent
If Sarver was willing to spend big the Suns could easily trade Kurt for a better player with a longer contract.
His value will go up at the trade deadline.
I think "easily" is a little overboard there.

I have a vague memory of some posters wanting to dump Thomas last year, but they were people I never take seriously anyway.

At this point I would prefer they did not dump Kurt Thomas if it means including that Atlanta draft pick. If they want to use their own draft pick (I don't think it will get the deal done though) to move him then go for it. They better get PJ Brown though, and they really should use a little bit of that savings to nail down Grant Hill or somebody else.

I actually think we'll see more Kurt Thomas this year when it makes sense. Still, I think coach Mike will be somewhat cautious with his minutes.
Perhaps I'm being overly optimistic, but I believe we are going to see a far less obstinate Mike D'Antoni this upcoming season.

I dont see the rationale in keeping an 8 million dollar vet to be the secret weapon against one team. Granted, he made duncan work for his points, but he still got them.
In the playoffs, I'd have to agree. During the regular season, the Suns can probably win close to 60 without either.
Last year there were people saying the Suns should dump KT because they got to the WCF without him the year before. After six months of saying "wait til they play the Spurs", it was a revelation that "yes they needed him and another one too".

If only D'Antoni would adapt to having a second big man play alongside Amare all the time, he wouldn't get into that inevitable foul trouble. He'll be used more when Amare gets into his inevitable foul trouble.
Kurt should stay.
