And not one mention of the o-line's struggles being a direct result of Warner's early struggles. Or am I to understand that he was just missing wide open receivers?
which was a jump ball in double coverage
Wrong. It was a 50 yard pass to the back corner of the end zone over two defenders, neither of which had a chance at the ball and Fitz made a good catch. That ball was very well thrown and to imply a jump ball? How is it a jump ball when Fitz never broke stride and the defenders didn't have a shot at it?
Earlier you say that the pass to Urban hit him in the chest, then once sentence later say "ok, maybe it hit him in the shoulder..." Really? Where'd it him? I think it should have been caught, but it was not a good pass, and it got picked off.
No, I said it hit him in the chest on his back shoulder side. And if he'd have had his head around and caught it with his hands it wouldn't have been off at all. Over the middle in traffic like that you want the receiver catching it right in the middle of his body not lead him out front where it can go off his hands.
Also, you say 30 points, but 9 of them are not of the offense's doing.
Is he not the leader of the team? He was the QB of the team that scored 30 points. He led them. I didn't say he engineered 4 TD drives.
The throw to Urban was to his back shoulder - while it should have been caught was a bad throw.
No, it wasn't. It hit him in both hands in the chest/shoulder area. It wasn't a perfect throw but a "bad" throw? If the receiver should have caught it, how is it a bad throw? 2 hands on it right in front of his face.
Boldin was WIDE OPEN and it was only a 6 yard pass. The rest was Boldin. I'm not giving credit to Warner for Boldin's YAC.
I know. Doesn't every other QB in the league get credit for short passes that turn into TD's? So the pass to Fitz doesn't count because there were 2 defenders in the area and the pass to Boldin doesn't count because it wasn't 70 yards in the air. Do you guys even hear what you're saying?
At one point in the first half Warner was a mere 5 - 13 but 2 of those were the long passes to Boldin and Fitz.
??? I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. Warner didn't complete a high percentage but had Arizona up 14-3?
We tell it like it is. You view things as a homer. He played fairly well and I think he can play a helluva lot better
BS. You guys are nit-picking a really good day by Warner and not even taking into account the situation. 95+ rating in the playoffs and for all intents and purposes a mistake free game. He scrambled for a first down, didn't take any sacks, didn't fumble, threw the ball away and played smart all day, didn't have Q the whole 2nd half not to mention making some huge throws to close out the game and you guys are being critical.
You guys should be congratulating me for my guy and because he didn't complete 70% of his passes it's a bad game. He started 5 of 13? Well, that means he finished 14/19 when things mattered most. Yeah, I'm just a homer.
