Rest?
Crazy talk IMO. Don't throw any game away. He can rest on the bye week.

A compelling case, or just a case? In the absence of data, I don't see how there can be a compelling case. There was NO case during a 16-game season, so a season 6.25% longer shouldn't be qualitatively different. There’s a compelling case to be made for Load Management for a teams stars until we have more data on the impact of a 17-game season.
If a player is capable of playing at a level they and the coaching staff and the training staff deem effective they play in the nfl. It’s pretty much that simple.Because not resting him when hurt last year cost us the playoffs.
Colt McCoy is a decent backup and we brought him in for situations like this
ThisThat said, how can you ask the other 52 dudes on the roster to give their all when you’re basically unfurling the white flag. Colt McCoy can’t win an NFL game against a good team.
Exactly. Every game counts. This isn’t baseball with 162 games.Rest?

If he can play without risking further injury and can perform at a level that gives the Cardinals the best chance of winning, then he should play.
On the other hand, if the medical staff says ANY player faces a significant risk of exacerbating an injury by playing, and it's not a playoff game, the player should rest. Adding one more game to the season doesn't tip the scales toward a different way of handling such situations.
Players who just need "rest" to reduce "wear and tear" get practice days off already.

Man I really appreciate your analytical brain and takes. Puts things in perspective.A compelling case, or just a case? In the absence of data, I don't see how there can be a compelling case. There was NO case during a 16-game season, so a season 6.25% longer shouldn't be qualitatively different.

Kyler was absent in injury reports. Example above. Not trying to troll, the shoulder injury was not talked about as the cause until Cardinals were out of playoffs.
Can't believe people are talking like we have already clinched a playoff spot or something. Resting Murray for any game that he could have played in and losing could be the difference between making or missing the playoffs.Exactly. Every game counts. This isn’t baseball with 162 games.
Not really, beside the fact he threw the ball to Hopkins in the final drive, the offense with kyler is not predictable, having Mccoy out there i think our runs wouldn't have been successfulKyler's arm will be fine. He wouldn't have been out there throwing up 10 points with barely any time left if it wasn't. Or out there on the final drive handing the ball off, something which McCoy could do.
He’s a rocket scientist.
