I'm not one to pay attention to cap hits because the cap is kind of a farce and can be easily manipulated but what would the cap deal be if the Cards traded Murray for Trevor Lawrence? They make similar $$$ per year.
Why would anyone trade for Trevor freaking Lawrence?

Of course the Steelers would want Kyler Murray. At QB 15 he is better than any available option next year and will only count for 19% of the cap space.

Trading him means we punt on next year and draft someone in 2026. There are a ton of good QBs though in that draft. Honestly you can probably keep Murray for a year and still get his replacement the next year if you want off him.

Insipid hyperbolic garbage response.

I’m acting like a fan who’s watched Kyler Murray turn into a pumpkin and crash and burn every second half of a season, missing the playoffs 5 of 6 seasons with the lone time he got in there, he backed in and then got humiliated in one of the worst playoff performances of all time.

Expecting different for the next two years… just… because… is acting like someone who hasn’t watched the last six seasons of the Cardinals.
LOL - you are calling me an insipid hyperbolic garbage response while saying it is a fantasy that the Cardinals could make the playoffs next year?

Dude, do you ever look in a mirror?

Correct - and if Kyler does well, you do the Jordan Love route, or trade the drafted QB.

Kyler 0-1
Trevor 1-1

Lawrence is paid more than Murray, is under contract longer than Murray and has a much worse winning percentage. Lawrence doesn't make us better by replacing Kyler. If we arent making the playoffs with Kyler, we aren't with Lawrence. His single post season win is meaningless if he can't get you there.

Based on your thinking Brock Osweiler is better than Kyler.

Playoffs
Kyler 0-1
Brock 1-1

BTW, Lamar Jackson has the 4th worst playoff record all time with at least 5 or more starts at 2-4.

lol. This team was basically two bad calls away from making the playoffs this year.

You act like we’re a one and 16 team
The team was similarly close to another 4-13 season type season. See, choosing to pretend like we could be way better if a few things just swung in our favor can also be an argument in the other direction.

I think the only way forward if you keep Kyler is to just build up the offense to the point where it's an easy handoff and an easy pass all of the time....which means the team has to explore other alternatives. Kyler pisses me off because every time I write him off, he has a game like he did against the Niners.
lol If that game did anything to make you un-write him off, I've got some oceanfront land in Kansas you're sure to love.

The team was a lot closer to 10-7 than 4-13.
You're right. We only had the three squeaker wins. So we're just as close to 5-12 as we were to 10-7. Yay, big improvement there.

We're not a playoff team. We don't have the talent or the QB. We also have a lame duck owner and a conservative GM. Chances that the above problems change significantly this offseason?

Yeah...because losing to a McVay coached team that's been on a hot streak since November is a huge red flag .
Did you watch Darnold play in his teams biggest game? He was bad.

If he has another bad game this week, well, you’ll see.

He’ll get a contract with another team but Minnesota will go to JJ.

We saw the blueprint in 2021.
To get to the playoffs with kyler we have to get 10 wins before December

Are you referring to the Detroit game? Because he certainly wasn't horrible... but the game wasn't huge.
