Today's Chicago Tribune is reporting that Adam Schefter from ESPN says that if Larry doesn't have an extension by the end of training camp he's leaving the team.

Someone else (Cardinals related) was tweeting that the vibe around camp yesterday was especially cheerful because the contract announcement was very close.
Somers said:"No one is saying a deal is close, but there's a positive vibe around Cardinals camp regarding Larry Fitzgerald contract negotiations."
Conversation Trotter Had with Fitz said:How close are the sides?
"Closer than we were last week," Fitzgerald said.
How far are they from reaching an agreement?
"Not too far away," he added.
My gut feeling: An extension will be finalized before Fitzgerald's stated deadline.
More on the topic according to Jim Trotter.

Per Trotter Fitz has a deadline of 9/5. But as he said he doesnt think that will be an issue.
Another interesting item of note, Trotter says they are working on an at least 6 year deal, not the 4 year deal some including myself thought they would be fighting over, of which Jurecki also kind of confirms the 6 year idea in his recent blog.
I could be wrong but I think you read a Somers tweet, and it didnt say it was close, but it was a positive none the less.

A 6 year deal... is there any precedent for that with a WR?
On March 3, 2007, the Texans signed Johnson to a six year extension; the deal is worth $60 million and includes $15 million in guarantees

I've heard that somewhere. Pretty sure that it was Andre Johnson for 6 years.Didn't Andre Johnson sign a 6 year deal?
http://twitter.com/ALLsportsINTEL/statuses/104256983095451648Book it now Larry Fitzgerald will sign a deal with the Arizona Cardinals between 3-4yrs and 12-13 mil per, expected next 10 days.
