I'm surprised to to read, that's his opinion. I thought it was obvious to everyone he is not the player he once was. Whether it's due to the knee or the steroids he simply isn't worth it anymore in my opinion.

Which makes him cheaper to sign. If he signs here it won't be for a huge contract. (Which makes it likely he won't be signed here)

ugh.

I hope Twitter dies a horrible death.
Sadly, the replacement will be something even dumber, they'll call it "Tit" and you'll only be able to use 10 characters.
The world will fill with "lolz".

If he comes cheap, I don't see how this could hurt. I think this was just a down year due knee reconstruction.

Twitter should seriously consider expanding the comment limit.

Merriman is easily better than all of the OLBs we have. If/when he is fully healthy he will be a monster.

He hasn't been healthy though. IMO Haggans was better than he was this past season. I'm not saying don't bring him in period but I would like to see Brown/Davis/Haggans if Merriman is pricy.

Merriman is done. Injuries and drug testing have sapped this man of the ability to be the dominant player that he was. Yes, he is better than what we have, but he is not the pass rusher that we need and will also be very pricey.

There's a reason Twitter starts with the word TWIT

Why? Were paying for last years stats, not his roided year. He shouldnt be to terribly expensive from everything I've heard.

Players are often blinded by the money that they think they are worth and the production that they used to produce. I am sure that Merriman thinks that he can return to the form that made him a Pro Bowler. I would be disappointed if he didn't. Fact is that he will want big money and a team will ignore the tape and give it to him. I hope that it isn't us.

I would be okay with giving him a basic contract loaded with incentives

Add Eric Norwood to the list along with Weatherspoon inside. I would like to see that.

I personally think he will return back to form as he did produce productive seasons after he got caught for roids (easy to hide steroid use). Oh boy would it amazing to see #56 terrorizing QBs in Cardinal red. :notworthy

Twitter will expand when text messaging limits expand. It is limited by that.
