David West would be great, but there probably isn't any way to actually get him numbers-wise. We can't trade them JRich because West doesn't make enough money and they don't have enough players for adding a throw-in. And for Toronto, their team is going to be pretty average at best, keeping Ed Davis has got to be a priority for them.

I'm warming more and more to the JRich for Al Jefferson deal, but right now, the position they are hurting at is SF, not SG with Corey Brewer there. Then again, Brewer is 6'9" and can be a slashing SF if they wanted to do that.

Could easily add Posey(who they'd love to dump) with West, I just don't think they'd want to. Their new super wealthy owner seems intent on keeping Paul.

Jefferson(along with Sessions) is being shopped for a SG. Brewer is much more a SF than a SG as is Webster who they just traded for and they used the #4 pick on a SF. Ellington is the closest thing they have to a pure SG.

I just can not believe Sarver is going to pay for this. We'd be right around the tax right? 65M or so? I haven't added it up.

I knew about Posey, but I don't think there is any way we would want or take Posey's contract, so I kinda counted him out of my argument.

I'm more and more on this bandwagon. JRich was great for us, but this seems to be the perfect trade for both of us.

I hear you. I am wondering if we go more to a triangle at times. I am thinking we will do less pick and roll, but I am probably wrong. I am eager to see what offense they cook up post Amar'e.
I think there is still going to be plenty of pick and roll, especially with Warrick. I also don't think this trade necessarily means he won't start at PF with Turkoglu at SF.

In a van...down by the river.
If we do Jefferson for JRich, where would that put us in the hierarchy of the Western Conference and the NBA as a whole?

Starters:
Robin Lopez
Al Jefferson
Hedo Turkoglu
Josh Childress
Steve Nash

Bench:
Grant Hill
Channing Frye
Jared Dudley
Goran Dragic
Hakim Warrick
Gani Lawal
Dwayne Collins
Earl Clark

Definitely one of the best benches in the NBA.
IMO it makes us contenders.....if nothing else it makes us relevant, which is a big step up from where we're at now.

Health permitting, that frontline of Lopez,AJeff and Turk is versatile, big and capable of doing good things on both ends.

Like you said, that bench is sick....basically adding the veteran leadership of Grant Hill to last years gritty bunch....nice.

Let's see, that's about $16M coming in next year and $7M going out. So, just off the top of my head, we should be at around $62M, about $8M below LT.

Think it's just a little north of 60mil unless they front load or have flat rates on some of the contracts. So about 10mil away from tax range.

I'm glad Leandro is going to Toronto where BC will take care of him. I like this young man.

I agree. He was great at what he was, but IMHO Turk brings something Barbosa doesn't - defense. Maybe he's fallen off some since his days with the Spurs where Turk was widely praised for his DEFENSE as a #2.

In his G&A interview, Sarver said he wanted to emphasize defense. This looks like n upgrade on the defensive end.

I'd like it if he was a better rebounder, but he can pass: 2007-09 6.0 apg, 2008-09 4.9 apg, and 2009-10 (with Torono) 4.1 apg and shoots a career 38.3 % for three with 3 seasons over 40%.

As for Childress, he had decent production wihen he was with the Hawks, but was no their "go to" guy. He averaged only 11.1 ppg in four years in ?Atlant, but shot 52.2% there. He was a career 6.4 rpg.

At 6'8", Childress could post up most opposing guards. Appears to be a decent pickup.

Whoa! Is there talk of us landing Al Jefferson, or is it just speculation on here? That would be SICK! Please tell me this is talk beyond ASFN....

I just don't see how we trade Barbosa for Turkoglu's bad contract and don't even get picks or anything from Toronto..

Somewhat related. Raptors replacing Hedo by using their TPE on Diaw. Thought that was pretty funny.

This just keeps getting better and better. You can't write a better offseason with how bizarre everything is.

I put it as a suggestion. I don't think it's likely by any means but Wolves are shopping Jefferson and Sessions and are looking for a SG.

I think in the end Jefferson will go to the Mavs for Damp or someones TPE or cap space.

According to Gambo, Dwayne Jones was included with Barbosa to make the salaries work for Hedo.

No, just speculation, that's all. Even though it makes some sense for both teams.

Why would minny do it for j-rich, just because he has 1 year left on his deal? Don't you think they would want some assets? Then again it is david kahn.

Good question, but I can only think it's cap space and the intriguing pairing of JRich and Johnny Flynn with KLove up top.
