So LeBron "no one in the NBA should ever wear #23 again" James will be wearing...you guessed it...#23 in Cleveland.

No one should ever take what he says seriously, IMHO.

Did he suddenly lose all of the respect he had for Michael Jordan and his number?

:lame:

I'm not even a fan, nor can I imagine myself ever rooting for Mr. Ego II, but come on. He tried to start a league wide thing and have the league retire the number in honor of Jordan. After 4 years it went nowhere, so why not? Also, people are allowed to change their minds or are you going to claim you never change your mind or position on anything? You would be the first and only human being to do so, so I'm going to have to conclude you're just being unfairly harsh and judgmental of the fella.

Somebody wake me when he rapes someone or beats his wife or kills a couple of people in a DUI accident. Until then, meh.

Eh he was trying to get everyone to stop wearing #23 but since that didn't work, he figured he might as well go back to it as well.

Real men only change numbers when trying to put their rape case behind them! :D

seriously. the guy is pretty much an NBA saint (the guy is even going to back to the armpit of America to try and deliver a title for his hometown for Pete's sake) and yet people (mostly Laker fans) continually try and tear him down.

Oh yeah, in 5 years when they still have no title all those fat, white, mouth breathing Cleveland steamers will be belly aching about how he wasted his best years in Miami.

Who cares? This whole retiring jersey's thing is short-sighted anyway. In 200 years or so, there will be no numbers left, and then what will they do? ;)
And only the Top 1% will be able to afford going to a ball game.

Or owning a TV.

Or a computer.

And the Suns will still be playing small ball. :)

And the rest of the Universal Basketball Association will still be trying to master it as we notch our 199th straight championship. You have your dreams, I have mine.;)

What's wrong with Clevelanders being white?

I was listening to PTI the other day and Wilbon said he liked the going back to #23, because that meant people who (didn't burn) still had their Lebron Cavs jerseys wouldn't have to buy new ones. Not that anyone "has" to buy any jersey. But at least it doesn't look like an additional money grab. Just speculation, but I thought it was an interesting point.

I bet those fans who own Lebron's old #23 Cavs jersey are sad he is going back to that number because those old jerseys may lose collector value.

My son still has a #23 LeBron Cleveland jersey hanging in his closet. Funny. Its relevant again.

He is still not allowed to wear it (for reasons of public decency, not financial).
