Its perceived ammo, Shane. Anyone can find something explosive in a dud of a story if they want to. Right now, people really really want to.

Unfortunately, the "story" about ML stinking up the field since preseason does provide some ammo of it's own... Warner has looked sharp in ALL of hhis appearances since preseason and ML has not... winning is what matters and if your 'starter' is not doing what it takes to make that happen, then alternatives are important

Bit of both, Shane. You have to be able to admit that. There was a guy talking about him touching his hair on the sideline, and trying to correlate it with his play.

And the point of people bashing him because of the way his custody of his child was handled, and that he visits him/doesn't visit him enough, etc.

Poor little, Matt.

Hey, I like the guy. Hell, my two kids run around wearing his jerseys during the games. But if is playing, well, not very good, he doesn't need to be calling up Wilmer to hang out at the hotel when he's facing the Ravens Defense the next day. He just doesn't. If for no other reason to keep up appearances ------ for his teammates!!!!!!!

And don't think for a second that his teammates aren't watching his behavior. What they would think about something like this, only they know. But I would speculate that it's not something that they embrace. Do you really think Q is alright with this the night before they face the Ravens D?

Right now, he's in a can't-win mode. Some have wondered why he wasn't wearing a headset while Warner was in Sunday so that he could benefit from the experience, but as Warner explained, he was in a no-huddle offense. There was nothing for Leinart to hear.

Isn't there a headset in his helmet that he was wearing on the sideline?

Warner was calling his own plays. There were no headset communications going on. So we have one QB that can call his own plays in this offense, and another who can't handle the entire gameplan.

Let's put this to rest now: There is no quarterback controversy and there should be no quarterback controversy, because knee-jerk reactions will not help this franchise. Leinart is not the bum you think he is today, nor is Warner the savior you're making him.
Best article I have ever seen from Boivin!!! She gets a racoon! :raccoon:

Signs of the apocalypse: Bickley and Biovin both writing good articles in the same week...

That's why they were so effective. The Ravens couldn't steal them.:D

How can anyone not love Kurt Warner? Is there a better teammate anywhere?

I very much agree. Like to have him as a neighbor. Leinhart does seem to be caught up in the celebrity Hollywood style of life. It has to be a distraction somewhat. He want be a celebrity very long if he does not focus the best he can and start improving. Seems like I see Leinhart's picture in all sorts of celebrity media. He does not need to become the Paris Hilton of football. Center yourself Matt. Party when the season is over or as the Army said "Be the best you can be" or "An Army of one".

I understand that and I even included Warner's explanation in my quote.

I was just wondering why 'someone' thought he wasn't wearing a headset when, from what I saw, he was wearing a helmet presumably with a radio headset in it.

So with a year in the league and 3 games in this offense I am less than shocked that one QB has problems with the "entire gameplan" while the veteran has an easier time recognizing defenses and calling plays on the fly.

The hotel thing didn't happen. It was recanted.

We finally have a young, potential franchise QB for the first time in AZ and after 14 starts the fans are ready to run him out of town. Sometimes it really sucks being a Cardinal fan.

What he says!

Who says they want him run out of town? Im saying I want him working his butt off like he should. I also expect that he should be able to perform to at least the level he was at last year and apparently he can't. Sitting for awhile may be just what he needs.

My concern is Matt's lack of progress. He has played poorly two out of three. Warner who has not even played at all comes in and makes him look even worse than I thought. If his lack of progress can be laid on a lack of effort/study he should be sat down and told just that. I do not know that his Hollywood image and party going have anything to do with his football play but I would be just a little concerned if I were the coach. In baseball if your all star starting pitcher is getting pummeled you do not leave him in. You bring in a relief pitcher and you do not wait until the game is out of hand. Matt ended up with a QB rating of something like 52 and Kurt 150. Something is amiss here.

you raise a good point. if he is driven by the limelight (and i'm not 100% sure that is or is not the case), he has to understand that if he sucks all those pretty starlets and boy band friends will dump him faster than he dumped his baby's momma.

I had to re-read this 4 times before I realized that you were not calling him a vampire. :D

Uh, the title using the words crossroads for a QB only in his second year makes the whole article stupid regardless of its content

Class guy. Always has been. His number and ring speak for themselves. He could start for many teams right now. The Bears in particular could use him.

Alot of the young QB's are struggling right now. Leinart, Rivers Grossman, Losman,Jackson,Smith, and Cutler all have issues. Vince Young is probably having the most success right now but that's more based on his mobility than anything else. I don't think he is being counted on to beat teams through the air. But, to his credit, he is doing what is needed when his team needs it to get some victories.

If I had a game Sunday that my life depended on winning you can believe I would start Warner over Leinhart. I would not even have to think that over. Yes there are other considerations but if you take one game at a time and you want to win this Sunday then Warner is your best chance to win if you drop all other considerations. Apparently there are things more important than winning at Pittsburgh.

I agree 100% and would even dare venture to say that I would also start Warner over LEINART. (notice the lack of a H)

I don't think you'll find anyone (without a negative agenda) who would say that Warner isn't pure class and a great mentor and human being. As well as still a very good QB.

If he wants to start, he should be given the chance--somewhere else. I imagine his trade value would be as high as ever.

Do you really expect Leinart to stay injury free for the entire season?
