He signed with BA and the Bucs...1 year deal...Per Schefter.
He will go play for Uncle Brucie
Maybe it was bad timing but whenever I watched the Jags or LSU I never saw the hype. If he was the same exact guy but never a teen phenom/top-5 pick he’s probably seen differently.
He missed 1 game last season....year 2 is the only one with any big injury/games missed...and part of that was likely also due to Coughlin revolt. Oh, and he caught 76 passes last year, too...So his game is evolving and growing. The Jags had nothing on offense last year, except LF...265 carries 4.3 ypc....and 76 receptions for over 500 yards....had 1800 overall scrimmage yards....with terrible receivers and QB (Minshew sucks). He was 3rd in the league in team % of offense. He may not ever be flash and dash, but he is hardly a 1 trick pony. Time will tell if he can continue to evolve, but I bet BA will get the most out of him. Also, this is probably the death knell for McCoy in Tampa. He won't be a 3rd string back.Oh he was 100% that guy at LSU.
he just can’t stay healthy and has been kind of exposed as limited in the NFL. It’s hard to because teams could stack the box like crazy against the Jags nobody feared Blake Bortles at all.
Matt Waldman's scouting report on him when he was coming out of LSU was spot on.
He said that everyone wants compare Fournette to All Day, but the reality is that Peterson is significantly more agile than Fournette.
Fournette is an old school half back. Put a blocker in front of him, line him up deep, and watch him get a head of steam and run over people. But put him in the shotgun or running RPOs and he will struggle because he has below average lateral movement.
He is literally the WORST fit for Kingsbury's scheme and it's not like he is an all world talent that you build your offense around...he clearly isn't and it would be ridiculous to change your offense for a replacement level player.
I think in his rookie year he had a long TD run and they clocked him at almost 23mph which made him thr fastest live action player in the NFL at that point.
There also was a stat that showed he faced more stacked boxes than any rb in the NFL by a wide margin.
So based on his size speed and power, saying he isn't an all world talent is silly. Also, comments saying he isn't a "game changing" player when he faces more stacked boxes than any RB shows that he is changing the game. Dude is a freak of nature. Arians will be great for his career just like kk is for drake

Also, the next time he shows all world ability in the NFL will be the first time.

Plenty of ankle breaking moves and big times runs. In addition to bowling people over. It also funny watching corners dread trying to tackle him, you can sense thier fear. I would say that's pretty game changing.

The jags organization has been a !@$show. Even with no talent around him. Fournetye was voted thr 52nd best overall player in the NFL. So forget what we think. The players trying to stop him think he's elite, and as previously stated, no rb has faced more stacked boxes, so d coordinators game plan on stopping him. Let's see how he does in Bruce arians offense.Highlights always look great. These don't even look that great. It shows a rather ordinary power bank with the ability to break tackles. I think the whole reel shows 2 ordinary catches and he had 80 so what were the others like?
I've read numerous times here about how his O line was bad or he had stacked boxes. That was the same for other running backs there right?
In 2017 TJ Yeldon had 5.2 yards per carry on 49 carries. Fournette was 3.9 YPA.
In 2018 Yeldon has 4 YPA on 104 carries and Fournette had 3.3 YPA.
In 2019 he had no competition but did have his best year at 4.3 YPA.
So I don't buy it was the team when a guy like Yeldon was outperforming him.
And Fournette only has 17 rushing touchdowns in 3 regular seasons. Thats a pittance for a running back. And it's decreasing. 9 in 2017, 5 in 2018 and 3 last year despite his best year for yards and carries. That's really bad.
McCaffrey has 22 rushing TD's in 2 years as a starter and a further 10 receiving. Dalvin Cook has as many rushing TD's as Fournette and missed most of 2 seasons.
If you want a big power back with little agility that will occasionally break off a huge gain, underwhelm on the majority of snaps and who won't score many TD's then Fournette is the guy for you.
8/8OK he's now elite for this tweet
