A couple of years back the patriots traded their 1 st pick for brandon cooks. Is 1.1 valuable?
I was basing a 2nd on what it might take. I would agree we should offer a 4th round.would rather stay off the front page. this team has never shown the ability to produce when they were not underdogs.
trading the first pick in the second round for an old WR who has already backed his team into a corner is just an unintelligent move. offer a fourth for brown, tell pittsburgh to take a hike if they want more.
Trust me JG, it’s all about winning. We have been on the Front page but it’s because we were SO bad. I’m not suggesting making moves just to be in the news but be in the news because we are good. That wasn't the central gist of the question - Adding talent is a good thing. But not because "it puts us on the front page." Focus too much on making headlines and the danger is that we'll add the wrong players for all the wrong reasons (i.e. we might overlook an injury or forgive a kinky lifestyle in order to make a news splash).
Bill Belichick has (rightly or wrongly) been credited with "knowing how to win." I'd tend to agree with those who feel he's been successful because he's locked into winning games. I always wondered what that meant. Now I think I know - Not being overly concerned about "public image" may be Bellichick's secret.

It was said the 2 nd round pick is to valuable and why it shouldn’t be given up. The counterpoint is the pats gave up their 1st round pick for Brandon cooks which they obviously thought the player was more valuable than the pick. What does that have to do with anything?
So what’s your thoughts Jetstream? You must be registered for see images attach
If the Stealers are backed into a corner, then why give them essentially a 1st round pick? Can’t argue that Shane. However the Steelers are backed into a corner where the Giants would want a kings ransom and are not being forced to move him. Either way a dynamic Wr such as these two would instantly make this offense better. That’s also assuming we fix the o-line. After last year I want to see DRASTIC improvement in this offense right now.
I just think that’s what it will take. There will be other teams that may/will throw their hats in the ring. I don’t think anybody is going to offer there #1 and we could outbid anybody that offers up their #2. Of course I wouldn’t start out offering our #2.If the Stealers are backed into a corner, then why give them essentially a 1st round pick?

That is my thought . I don’t want to depend on a rookie Wr to get his feet wet and be forced to learn on the job. Brown would give this receiving corp instant credibility...and I’d still draft one this year.I would offer a third for him. Serious, because Fitz is all gold and still productive but cannot carry the WR corps. Kirk in his second year will be more dynamic but that is still not enough in a passing league. The other remaining guys are nothing special and any other free agent guy is no more than a hop skip jump away from us being what we where last year if anyone gets hurt on the current roster. Any rookie WR will not produce enough. Seldom do you have the opportunity to get the best in the game which Brown still might be at a position of need. Now, we have problems on the OL but if this team cannot at least make the OL respectable with our cap space and draft order but still not have have room to fix two areas, our front office has issues. We can get Brown, damn right if we want him and I feel we want him because we might destroy Rosen or the drafting of Murray with no one legitimate weapons
