Do you understand that it takes more than one person to score points in football?

Come on man. I understand you wanting to defend your QB to a degree but let's not twist facts.

The Cardinals finished with a better record than the Bengals even though they had a tougher SOS. They also had almost exactly the same point differential and points scored.

The Bengals aren't a better team. Burrow just played better, especially when the chips were down.

Wow, so like there's this vast gulf between Burrow and Murray? Do you understand that it takes more than one person to score points in football? I'm not sure that you do.

You know, as much as I hate the Rams, I will now happily cheer for them to beat the crap out of Burrow. I'm am so sick of hearing you guys coo and fawn over him, while trashing the guy that plays for your own team. It is so freaking gross.
You know I'm a Murray backer too brother, but one guy is about to play for an NFL Championship while the other just cleared out his social media which is often a sign of discontent.

Murray needs to grow up. He needs to realize his body language matters.

Sure let's go get Jalen Hurts and a couple picks that Bluto will inevitably screw up for despite his flaws is one of the top 10 quarterbacks in the world.

Whiny kids who delete socials to try force a new contract are not somebody you want as your franchise QB. There's no downside.

If that's the kind of person he is then were best moving on sooner rather than later.

How is he a top 10 QB? On what metric? Potential?

I think it's pretty clear that Herbert, Stafford, Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Prescott, Rodgers, Jackson, Wilson and Watson are all better than him. Arguably so is Tannehill.

He's top 15. Maybe top 12. But not top 10.

It could be a cycle of continuous off season stunts by him and us as fans worrying continuously if we are going to have a QB ready to go each season

You wanna hear about some other high-profile trade requests? Eli Manning, John Elway, Marshall Faulk, Jerome Bettis, etc. Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, etc.

We will never get comparable value for Kyler. All you trade Kyler guys are whining like scorned teenage girls because he's probably pissed about our historically incompetent front office lowballing him vs the market and not surrounding him with NFL-level talent and coaching. And like I've repeatedly said - he's a big boy and should do better as we're all not dealt a full house on the flop in life but the kid also has legitimate gripes.

The As did promise Murray a MLB roster spot when he signed, but that promise is probably gone now.
That doesn’t mean he would be on the 25 man MLB roster necessarily. It was probably a promise to put him on the 40 man roster which has some benefits but 15 of those guys would still be in the minors

Curious as to how you come to this conclusion.
TV Ratings, social media engagement, attendance and pretty much every other metric used to gauge fan interest in a sport.

And it’s a statement comparatively speaking to the NFL/NBA. It’s not meant to be taken literally. It’s just a distant 3rd sport in this country at this point.

My point has less to do with WHO Kyler Murray is, and more to do with where he was selected in each draft.
I could be completely wrong, but a sure way to find out is if the Cardinals let him walk or trade him. That would settle all debates ! ! !. My point still stands though...
Kyler leaves.... Who's going to be making the next draft picks....
Good luck with that..
On a final note. None of us knows what any of this means so, it does seem somewhat pointless to debate something that might actually be Nothing At All...
He was considered overdrafted as he was considered the 36th best prospect by some central MLB rating process. But MLB always has weird drafts where players rise or fall based on nonbaseball items like signability, contract demands, etc.

And you’re absolutely right. Giving keim more picks guarantees nada.

And this is a sports board - where else are people going to debate potentially meaningless issues and points?

Low balling him with a low offer? You have no idea if they even had talks. I very much doubt they have. Why would they?

I think at present, yes there’s a gulf. Not in natural talent, but in toughness, in terms of reading defenses, in terms of leadership, in terms of being clutch.

And there are other people on the field that impact a game?!? You don’t say. All those years playing linebacker I thought I was just keeping the field warm until the QB could get back on it.

You know what’s gross to me? Blind homerism. It makes actual discussion regarding sports less intelligent.

The kid has no gripes. NONE. He's still under contract, his contract isn't close to being "up" and he's a massive part of the problem. Try being part of the solution and EARNING the big extension first. All he's earned is more time for us to hope he develops into what he's supposed to be.

The funny thing is I’m a murray backer too. But I can admit he’s got bug warts and work to do. I can also see the reality that’s sitting squarely in front of my face.

Burrows: NCAA championship winner & 2nd year in league team in super bowl.

Kyler: worst performances in clutch games and playoffs to date.

This kind of BS rarely happens with high-functioning organizations. Per usual though the media and their plebs chase the shiny object instead of the institutional embedded failure.

PS - not scrubbing Kylers poor play down the stretch but he does deserve a lucrative extension in todays NFL landscape.
I'll think even less of our FO if they give KM a lucrative extension at this point. He in no way, shape, or form has earned it yet. I'm not saying to low ball him, just not give him a new deal yet. Go correct his major gaping holes in his game this year, THEN talk.

Are you kidding? There IS a huge gap between the two QBs. To your second point, Burrow has been BURIED in sacks and has still stood in the pocket and led his team. He's also, earlier than KM, been clutch when needed, LED his team into the playoffs, and led them to wins in the playoffs. He is light years beyond KM at this point.
Give Kyler - Jamar, Tee, Boyd, Mixon, CJ and Bengals offensive coordinator… bet there are vastly different results in Kyler’s play. Burrow is a stud, but is known for holding onto the ball too long - def vastly increases his sacks.

Btw, fun fact.. Kyler is nearly a year younger than Burrow.

Here is the story. (This is speculation but this is how these games are played)

Kyler's camp reached out to the Cardinals for an extension. They got rebuffed because of his poor performance down the stretch and playoff game. Kyler's agent wants to get the deal done for his client because it gets him paid, prevents a Baker Mayfield situation from occurring next year, and puts him in the class with the top young QBs this has already happened with. Kyler scrubs his social per agent and agent gets info out there.

Again, same agent who put out there that Kliff was interested in Oklahoma despite Kliff saying he prefers coaching in the NFL to college. Both leverage plays.

What is next? I would be shocked if Kyler did not do the Russell Wilson Spring Training thing and show up to mess around at A's camp. Russ did it with the Rockies for fun, and Kyler could very well do it with the A's for fun as well. The reason his agent would push him to do this is the implication that Kyler could go back to baseball despite everyone knowing it isn't really an option. It's all a game.

Whereas Kyler panics and spins into the pass rush, or just goes fetal and gives up. One can take a hit and make a play, and the other one's too scared. I mean, if it isn't being too scared, why can't KM sit in the pocket and take a hit to make a play?

There isn't much leverage when the game is as plain as the nose on one's face.

This may very well be accurate. Got to tell you, though, the minute he starts flirting with baseball, I'm done with the kid and want him off my team. He's no Russell Wilson. If he were, he wouldn't have to worry about getting that big contract. Also, Russell Wilson didn't have a giant fat cat first contract like KM did.

I dunno.. crazy thought - maybe because Burrows WRs can actually get separation quickly?

Also for every single dramatic description you give above, he avoids several potential sacks a game.
