Beasley has a lot of baggage already. What else are they offering?

Then find a third team to deal with that wants Beasley. Trust me, there's plenty. He's extremely talented and is on his rookie contract. Come on people, this deal is huge for the Suns. The ramifications of it can either help the team succeed or set us back for years. Don't be lazy. Amare for Hickson and Z, cuz Hickson doesn't have "baggage", is not the best move for the Suns.

Switching team is ridiculous, don't matter if you've being a fan for Donkey years, it simply means you are not a true fan.
Watching less game because you think your team sucks or stop being a basketball fan makes more sense than switching teams.

I was just reading both Cavs and Heat forums and there is one common denominator, if Kerr pulls the trigger on the Cavs deal the Suns FO is a joke.

Hickson not only doesn't carry baggage, he has plenty of talent himself. He could be a better all around player than just the scorer Beasley will probably turn out to be. And he has a friendlier contract to boot.

Now Amare straight up for either one basically is a joke. The Suns need to get more or do something else, or stand pat.

I can't imagine turning in my papers on being a Suns fan. IMO either you're a Suns fan, a bandwagon fan or no fan at all. This doesn't mean I like what is going on with the team's ownership and front office. I definitely will not relinquish my right to criticise the Suns franchise when merited. I think most posters are frustrated Suns fans that get angry. I understand this. I don't think being a Suns fan is something that one can turn on and off.

People always wonder why Phoenix gets a bad wrap with respect to their fans... The first quote here is a classic example of why... Milgod, you seem to be a rare Valley fan. Good for you!

slinslin lives in Germany.. He is not a Phoenician..

Deciding who's a real fan and who isn't a real fan is ignorant.
Thats not what this thead was about.

I(and many others here) have stuck it out thru crappy seasons before.
This is different. There's a true sense that this once proud and pretty successful franchise is being run into the ground in the name of the almighty dollar.

Yep. The reaction would be no different in a major "sports town". This isn't a team that is trying to win and failing like the Wizards or 6ers. This is a team trying to liquidate all of it's assets and has little intrest in competing.

As a Bulls fan, if you think this is crappy, you should have been in my shoes for about 7 season and even the lst 4 or 5 have not been all that great either. Try trading Tyson Chandler for Elton Brand or drafting Marcus Fizer and Jay Williams or signing Eddie Robinson or Ron Mercer as your big free agent splashes.

Those were all moves made in the attempt of making the team better. They just happened to fail. That is not nearly as bad as selling off a contending team piece by piece saying you want to keep the core together then doing the same thing with the core.

You can't be serious.
Hickson is not only older, he has low bball iq, bad defense, below average rebounding, NO OFFENSE to speak of and is undersized as a PF.

Great news, Beasley is a 25ppg scorer potentially, 20ppg worst case, in the near future and could interchangeably play both forward positions with Clark.

UMMMM, the Jerry's traded 3 starters from a championship team and the best players they got back was Brent Barry all while letting MJ and Rodman walk because they thought management won championships not players. That still hurts.

I actually forgot about how bad they handled the dismantling of that 3peat team. But they also quit selling out the arena shortly after that.

Beasley = Drew Gooden - off court style

Suns FO has always been a joke. SO whats the difference??

It confirms to me that it's not just bias, that our FO really is a joke and the laughing stock of the league. I thought maybe I was being critical and other FO's take criticism like ours. Nope. Hurts

Beas has much more talent than Hickson. Hickson is a serviceable player at most, will never be all star quality. Beasley could. We get a better pick or picks from Miami, perhaps a more substantial expiring contract and serviceab player in JO. What is there to consider?

An organization that is not doing a good job needs to be sent a message, namely via the fans' wallets. A "diehard" fan that thinks he's being loyal by continuing to support the team fails to send that message and just reinforces to the owner that he can continue to run the team poorly without consequence. The fan just ends up hurting himself.
I am talking about switching teams (which is ALWAYS wrong) not sending a message to the owners.

You think Gooden is as good as Beasley. Really???????????????????????

Not at this point of Goodens career, but they will have the same career's when it is all said and done.

Fortunately the Coyotes have been awesome this year. Been spending my money there.

Smart man.

Who watches basketball anyway ?

Do they even shoot jump shots or play defense anymore, or is it still slamball NBA style ? :D

Bah, pay no mind to me, I just saw the thread title and always know these are great drama posts.
