@mikejurecki: Hearing 8 teams contacted Levi Brown after he was released, he wanted 2 stay w/ the Cards & instructed his agent 2 strike a deal w/ Az.
Unlike some people, I really believe Levi could have signed with those other teams making more than he was making here. I've said it before and I'll keep saying it until he proves otherwise: Levi Brown is a professional in every sense of the word. Never complains (plenty of reason to), never gets into trouble, always shows up in shape, works hard, willing to take less money to stay here as opposed to playing somewhere else.
The only reason he doesn't get credit for staying, unlike Dansby, Rolle, Boldin, is because he doesn't have the talent level they do. But the motivation to leave had to be, for him, even greater, because he has to know he's hated here by the fans. To stay at a reduced salary and try and change perception is all class and professionalism.
I've also said this before: He's only maybe halfway in his career and has time to improve to the expectations we have of him. He's been a disappointment for sure, given where we picked him, but the truth is he was taken to play RT, to protect Leinart's blind side. Not to play LT and protect the likes of Kevin Kolb, who Levi has to think is back there like a chicken just waiting to run, and which way is he gonna run, where do you want me to move my guy (or what angle do I let him take)? There's no planning for protecting a concussion waiting to happen.
He was too highly regarded as a RT to just suck it up that bad at LT. If he were that good at left, someone in college or high school would have moved his ass there a long time ago.
correct me if I'm wrong... but he was a LT at Penn. St and that's why we drafted him. Never heard of a team using the #5 pick in the draft on a RT.

I think he was a RT at Penn St, but our QB that was penciled in at the time was Leinart who is a lefty, making it a logical pick.

Which has nothing to do with nothing.wikipedia may definitely be wrong, but it had him listed as a LT throughout his career save one game in his....

The issue at hand is "how do we protect our QB's blindside?"
There are many of us who don't feel -based on his professional track record to date - that Levi is the answer.
wikipedia may definitely be wrong, but it had him listed as a LT throughout his career save one game in his sophomore year:

It has everything to do with everything since he was quoting my post, where I said he was a RT drafted to protect Leinart's blind side. Again, that's my bad.
I also think Cheesebeef may agree with you about Levi not being the answer. The guy you should be arguing with is me, but since Cheesy just pwnd me I don't see how that's possible.
You're right. He played LT, but we drafted him with the intent to move him to RT to protect Matty's blindside.

P.S. I haven’t yet seen the signing bonus for tackle Levi Brown, but the NFLPA website lists his 2012 salary at only $1 million (it had been scheduled for $8.3M before he was cut). The salary jumps to $4.75M in 2013, $6M in 2014 and then $5M in each of the final two years of the deal. Without the bonus it’s impossible to know the current cap hit, but that salary structure eases a lot of cap issues.
I'd guess the signing bonus is going to turn out to be the roster bonus he was due this year. If so, that is 14.5 mil spread over the five seasons.
I believe there's also a $2.4 million hit from his old bonus, which will affect the cap. From; Urban
