It's over folks. Still think Buccannon is a player you can use on the field. Wilks turned off the lights on them today.

Who in their right minds are trading anything of value for those guys???

Team could have drumd-up up both guys as good players but not fit to scheme in the off-season and may be could have gotten effectively a 4th rounder.
Why Wilks and Keim didn't do it is perplexing.

Now they are $12 million dollar burnt toast.

This team is slipping into abyss faster than Enron.

So try Deone at SS or trade him. Also need to trade Reddick.

Need to recoup at least SOMETHING.

Who is going to trade for them?

If they aren't good enough to be linebackers for the cardinals, they aren't good enough for any team.

If they aren't linebackers - what the heck are they - Maybe bucannon can be a safety again, but what position could Reddick play - he has already failed as both a 3-4 outside linebacker, and a 4-3 inside and outside backer.

The answer is Reddick is worthless, and Bucannon does not have enough value - especially with an 8 million dollar contract to be tradeable.

We got to just face it they were massive failures as draft picks. Reddick especially, if they had gone after Mahommes like I wanted we would be in an infinitely better position right now.

This is preposterous. Deone has been a very good player for us for 4 or 5 years. Pure insanity to watch #51 be 5 steps slower than anyone has covering while we have the league's first ever $LB sitting on the bench.

I’ve thought he’s been underwhelming since his 2nd year. I don’t understand how an undersized LB looks so slow.

Has anybody on this coaching staff entertained the idea of playing Buc and Reddick in the positions that ultimately made them 1st round selections coming out of college? Bethea and Boston are solid, but maybe Buc can redeem some of his value in replacing Bethea once he hangs it up. Unlikely though, since Buc is probably gone anyway. But Reddick is still under contract and has shown excellent bend, hustle, pursuit and speed off the edge at Temple. We could unleash him on 3rd down, where we lack athleticism anyway.

I was under the impression that Buc was just a bad fit for our new scheme? You'd think that some 3-4 team would want to take a shot at him, maybe worth a late round pick?

It's so hard to believe how Buc has become nothing more than bench warmer when previous regime had him like one of the best. It gotta be this coaching staff has no idea how to use these guys from how they use Fitz, DJ, etc...or is Buc no longer effective due to injury or something? If it's just a scheme thing, i am sure other teams will trade for him.

No $lb in a 4-3. But I think he could be brought in on blitzing situations. Reddick is befuddling.

Mahomes wasn’t available to us. Simple as that. Unless we were going to give up a first round pick and more for him. The offer behind us was simply too good.

If anything gets Keim fired, it’s his 1st round failures

Yes. If Bidwill wouldn’t fire him because of something Keim did outside the office, then what Keim does inside the office has to be the only possibility, and even though you build your team in the later rounds in the draft, you cannot miss on too many first- and second round selections. Okay, if Keim messes up outside the office again he will probably be let go, but he absolutely has to know better by now.

I wish Wilks would expand the comment on what exactly the’ve been tasked with for which they can’t be trusted.

The trust word is a bit strong to use if a player is simply not good enough to perform in your scheme.

I think the apparent success of this last draft is the carrot that leads Bidwill to keeping Keim around for at least one more draft.

If you watch them play, Bucannon and Reddick are terrible read and react players. Bucannon shoots the wrong gaps at times which compromises the defensive scheme. Reddick is just lost.

Wilks scheme in CAR required LBs that sideline to sideline speed that could drop into coverage that is neither Bucanon or Reddick. What got Bucanon drafted was his skills at SS, BA made him a 3-4 ILB and now he doesn’t fit in the current scheme. Injuries have sidelined him the last couple of years and not sure if he can transition back to SS but we have a lot of safeties already. Reddick should be used strictly as a pass rush specialist when you bring the house. The ILB I like a lot in the draft is Josh Allen of Kentucky or in middle rounds Khalil Hodge of Buffalo.

People talking about Buc as a safety, go watch game one against Washington. He got lit up in coverage, looked too slow in coverage and too weak against the run. Pretty sure he'd still suck as a 3-4 ILB right now. He is not playing as well as previous years. The $LB gimmick was cool for a while, when he had a well coached and talented D line covering him up. Now he's either playing worse or getting exposed, or both.

Reddick- dude played end in college and literally had to read one player on every play. Off ball linebackers rely a lot more on instincts than raw athleticism and Reddick has no off ball instincts. I suspect in a certain defense where he can just be a run and chase guy who covers RB's in the flat he could be fine. For those wanting him as a pass rusher there is a great YouTube by Matt Waldman I watched back before that draft. He showed a bunch of clips of where Reddick lacked the strength to be a speed to power guy and was too easily pushed wide as he ran the arc on his rushes. Dude has the speed for sure, but needs another 15 lbs of muscle if you want him to be a truly effective rusher. I hated the pick at the time, but I envisioned him contributing on blitzes up the A gap where he could rely more on speed and athleticism than as a true edge rusher. I thought he'd underwhelm, but never thought he'd be this useless.

With regards to Mahomes, there's no doubt the Cards were going to draft him. BA said Mahomes was among the top 3 smartest he has ever seen on the whiteboard along with Peyton Manning(the other name escapes me).

Josh Allen is a OLB in a 3-4 so he most likely would be a DE in a 4-3.
