Thing is that he has a ton of athleticism and a great attitude and work ethic so I haven't given up on him yet.

With regards to Mahomes, there's no doubt the Cards were going to draft him. BA said Mahomes was among the top 3 smartest he has ever seen on the whiteboard along with Peyton Manning(the other name escapes me).

I think if we'd drafted Mahomes, Arians would still be here.

Simple fact
They are 3-4 linebackers NOT 4-3 guys
For those that don’t know the 3-4 lb is much smaller and faster than a traditional 4-3 guy
The 4-3 requires them to put there nose in with the big boys and smaller guys don’t want to do that.
They would be great in a Jets uniform
But there value is nothing more than a 5 or 6
Someone in a 3-4 is gonna get a steal.

Reddick is big enough, and he's fast enough. He's just not smart or instinctive enough. It's worth remembering that Reddick actually couldn't play in a 3-4 defense either.

Bucannon probably needs to be better protected. I know that people like to say that he could/should go back to safety, but I haven't seen anything that tells me to trust him in the deep middle of the field.

Pretty much all of them. From day one he would publicly call out the players for making mistakes, etc. But never blamed himself or his coaches. It was ALWAYS the players fault

I get frustrated with the Bucannon situation on a couple of different levels.

1-If you were going to make the defense work with the pieces you had, then you needed to find a way to make Bucannon work based upon what he can do. People aren't wrong when they say that he is a guy who works hard to do what he can do. It doesn't matter at this point if it is equitable to the area of the draft that we drafted him. If you keep this guy on your roster, you find him something meaningful to do.

2-If you weren't going to adjust your scheme to make him work, you should have cut him prior to FA. The NFL is a business, everyone gets it, but now the team is impacting Deone's future contract by putting him into a situation where he can't succeed. We are well passed that point now, but the team should either start him, cut him, or trade him ASAP. This points to trust and respect, and coaches lose locker rooms by having an environment where players do trust the coaches and feel that the coaches do not respect them as professionals. I know you don't have to, but doing players a solid when you don't have to is what makes free agents want to play for your team and smooths negotiations with agents.

I had not read anything stating that Bucannon was still rehabbing or nicked up at the beginning of the league year.

IMO it is a dirty move by the Cardinals as Deone doesn't seem to be a problem in the locker room and I have never heard of him not being a hard worker. You treat a guy like that in this way during a contract year, it has ramifications.
