How was it weird? He didn't want to train his kid anymore because he was afraid he would get hurt and ended up taking a vacation? It is a moot point anyways since he is back.

to a TV writer, it just seemed like an obvious "oh, we can't afford Keach for every episode" so let's just have a moment where we throw him away for a couple episodes to bring in someone else for a couple episodes who we can then throw away as well.

all that stuff just felt like incredibly false beats.

I see where you're coming from. While the show pretty much just ran in place the two episodes Ed Romeo was there I was okay with it because I really liked Romeo.

It is too bad the show is going to be a one and done because I'd be curious as to where they could possibly take this in a future season. From my view he either wins and retires on top or he gets destroyed and retires.

this week's episode was better. still hoping Lights gets his ass kicked though if the big fight ever happens.

Just about to post that. Too bad. Hopefully the lead, Holt McCallany, gets another chance because he has been great in the role. I've read that the season ends in a way that gives closure to the story, kind of like the way Terriers ended.

agreed on holt. i don't like the character all that much, but he's a talented actor who makes the most of what he's given. good to know it's got a little closure. i'm hoping he goes out a vegetable!

Barry K Word, is hands down my favorite character.

Too bad this show is done, this further cements the notion that boxing is dead to nearly everyone. I was a huge fan and was hoping there would be a second season.

pretty predictable ending... and even though I saw what was going to happen to Holt physically, I really liked the way they expressed it with one line.

The episode was alright. It was weird, the choreography of the fight seemed decent at times and then it was down right awful at others. Also I wish they had written the ref to at least pretend like he wasn't on the take. That was way too comical. But the end of it made up for it. I absolutely loved the way they ended it. It was such a punch in the gut.

Overall it was a good show. It had some really great moments and some not so good moments but I am glad the show happened and I saw it.
