As this training camp and preseason unfolded I kept wondering where on this roster was the lunchpail toughness on our roster. Lost in the "need for speed" on our defense I felt we lost the toughness that a Ronnie Mac or a KVB brought to the lineup. You won't win without speed that is for sure but a defense without a defined toughness that I thought maybe DD would bring is now after 4 games( apparently no one told the Cardinals yesterdays game wasn't a preseason affair)is lacking in tough hardnose grind it out types that get mad and out of control for there fuel. Our defense seemed so reserved when they got down by 11 in the second half. I would have appreciated some anger and fire at this point. While this is not the single reason for defeat it could contribute to a very long season on the defensive side of the ball if DD or perhaps Davis don't step up in the middle and take the load off of Berry and Okeafer. Our much hyped DC Pendergast has to find a way to get the toughness out of his group or we might get embaressed alot on sunday this year.

So now....in your infinite wisdom( most would call you a blowhard) you would believe that Ronnie mac and KVB didn't thru there passionate play seem to add an attitude to our defense? Guys feed off of that kind of in your face passion....if you were anything more than a wanna be you would know that....the thing that makes me laugh the most is how pathetic most of your takes are....whatever....I don't know why anyone responds to someone that just likes to tell everyone they don't know anything and that there take is the only one with any kind of legit perspective....your a head case pal.

The D seemed to play with plenty of passion and attitude before Warner and the Special Teams killed them with mistakes.

But I guess you're right in saying that Ronnie Mac and KVB had tons of experience pumping up defenses in the middle of blowouts to only allow 200 yards in the second half of games, or whatever.

IMO Warners mistakes were minimal, special teams killed momentum which we had coming out to start the second half. Mac,KVB had there many shortcomings but heart and desire was not one of them. They made up in desire for there lack of talent. The rest of the talentless defense had little heart to begin with so yes there were 200 yard second halfs. We have a faster more talented( if not deep ) defense now. I hope that DD or someone can have the heart to get them to play to there potential. They showed signs last year but the aforementioned were still on the D. We need some others to step up is what I am saying.

Really? Because when Kurt Warner threw a pick deep in Cardinals' territory to begin the 3rd quarter, and Tiki Barber scored on the next play, it seemed like a pretty big mistake to me, since this is not really a defense designed to be run on once a team gets a lead. It's fashioned more after the Colts' D, which is supposed to be able to make just enough plays for your team to win.

I'm sure that KVB's passion and leadership were well-appreciated by Tennesee and their fans when they lost 34-7 yesterday, especially since Ben Roethlisberger didn't even get his uniform dirty. And his passion and leadership surely made up for Willie Parker's 200+ combined yards from scrimmage. I'm sure Coach Fisher gave KVB a pat on the rear for his contributions.

change your signature. After this, it isn't appropriate.
The D looked flat and uninspired yesterday. However, I will agree, that Warner didn't look anything like what I hoped he would.
The D never played for the screen. They need to fake a normal looking package and drop out of it. They have to mix things up.
ST's hurt us also. C'mon, everyone saw that. It took the wind right out of us.
This D needs to take a penalty or two while kicking some butt. They didn't.
THAT'S ATTITUDE! CRUSH someone. Wilson had it going for a bit.
I don't like what I see from Warner so far. I'm hoping he's not a quitter.
But, attitude on D, and yea KVB had it, is something we have got to have.
Sometimes, as your signature suggests, it isn't about talent as much as it is heart. I think heart is the immeasurable "ATTITUDE"!

Warners pick contributed to us not regaining momentum but the first possession of the Giants and the big pass to Burris and the subsequent run in is what was costly. Every QB is going to make some bad plays in the course of a game. I would bet there is no one that felt that Warners play cost us the game therefore his mistakes were minimal. I would still like to have KVB for depth. That is all I will say. We could use Mac right now as well. :(

I have a problem with the way the Defense just gave up yesterday! Maybe its because they are so young and agressive, but you cannot let the wind out of you sail after one kick return for a TD.

Yes, it was sort of a momentum killer, but so what! Sack up and get ready for the next series. There should be no quit in this team, None!

As for the O-line, check my signature...

I agree that the Warner pick killed the Cards but there is no excuse to allow Barber to run right through our D and score in 1 play...there is plenty of blame all around for this one..the team flat out quit after the Kick return for a TD...

Any talk of bringing back KVB or anything he possesed is laughable in my book. I understand what you are saying, he is an overachiever, hard worker, but he had no talent. The two are not mutually exclusive. There are players -beleive it or not- that possess both hustle and talent.

KVB is/was not one of them!

I gotta admit listening at home when he threw that pick and they scored on the next play I was having Jake Plummer flashbacks.

But we did go right down field and score, then the KO return killed us.

We won't be bringing back any of them....the point was asking do we now have talented guys with no heart? I want both. I think there could be some on the D with both. We need them to stand up.

I just think you could have given a better analogy then KVB is all. I get what you are saying and actually agree with you. I think Berry, Okeafor, and Wilson can be those guys....

On the offense...ummm....Fitz maybe

Yeah, I agree. I think that Rolle will be as well, owing to his Miami background.

Isn't Anquan supposed to be that guy on offense? Oliver Ross is supposed to be, as well...

IMO the fact that NY scored TD's on their opening possessions in the first and second halfs were momentum killers. We needed a stop to begin either half and didn't get it. Those screens on 3rd down killed us too.

Ok, ok, stop it. OMG! For a while there, you really had me going, thinking you were serious. Phew! Nearly sprayed coffee all over my screen. Let's just blow that quote up a little, just in case anyone here missed it, and thinks you have any credibility:
