Why? I don't think Noah meets their major needs.

Really? I've heard they like Noah as someone to pair on the inside w/ KG. They already are set at the guards and wings with Davis, Hudson, Hassell, Foye, McCants, and Smith. The only other serviceable big outside of KG that they have is Mark Blount, and he's no start like Noah might end up being. If Minny stays at 7, I think they'd take Noah as Hawes is too much of a reach.

However, McHale does like big, white, terrible centers.

You joke, but lots of mocks have Hawes going here.

Mocks for the Wolves

ESPN - Noah

Chad Ford is the only mock I've found that think the Wolves will go for Noah. In several cases Noah was off the board but often not. The consensus of the commentaries is that they need someone who can score in the low post. This is not what Noah is good at.

^I hope you are right, as much as I think Noah is over rated in a lot of ways, I'm more than happy with him on the Suns if they keep KT, Amare and Marion. He'd certainly be good for a few minutes and seems fairly NBA ready. If the Wolves pick Hawes on Thursday, Ill probably honestly die laughing and have to go check out some of their boards, Im sure they'll be bummed.

Here's one interesting scenario posed by an NBA executive. This is pure speculation on the part of the executive, but it does make some sense. The Suns send Shawn Marion to the Bucks for the draft rights to No. 6, Charlie Villanueva and Earl Boykins. The deal saves a ton of money for the Suns because the Bucks can go roughly $10 million under the cap on July 1 to absorb the salary.

However, a source in Milwaukee says the Bucks haven't had any meaningful discussions with the Suns.

Thoughts? I don't know what to think myself. I don't like Boykins. :( I don't know enough about Charlie.

I had this discussion with a friend of mine who is a Bucks fans. Marion isn't really worth that much IMO. They'd be giving up a lot for just Marion.

i thought Boykins didnt pick up his player option....so isnt he a FA.

i'm inclined to believe that this is nonsense. and once again we are talking about a team shedding ALL their cap space to get Marion, while giving up a lotto pick.

Marion for #6/Villenueva/and a chance to sign Billups? i think not.

What's the deal with Villanueva's shoulder? He had a lot of injury issues last season and I don't think they were ever really resolved.

18 points, 10 rebounds. 2 steals, 1.5 blocks, good defender out of a small forward? sorry marion is worth that and more.

I would be all over that trade. I especially like Boykins because he can run a high octane offense. He may not be the idea PG but he would certainly be a better backup PG than what we have. In regard to Charlie I thought early Toronto got the losing end of that trade for Ford. And of courses the #6 pick is better than the #8 being discussed.

This trade alone would satisfy the Suns needs and #24 and #29 could be used to address depth. And of course this deal saves the Suns money as well.

Maybe not, but it wouldnt be a good trade for the Suns either. Boykins is a ballhogger, he wont solve our backup pg problem. Villanueva is a mediocre defender and rebounder, worse shooter than Marion and often injured - I dont want this guy on the Suns! The pick could be very valuable if Conley is there (which I doubt) but even then the Suns wouldnt be better with this trade.

I dont like the idea of drafting Noah, it would be a huge mistake to give up Marion for him.

I don't know about that trade. If Charlie V was more of a known commodity, maybe. Boynkins, meh, who knows...he'd be an upgrade over Banks, but who wouldn't be?

I just think you have to keep Marion, Amare and Nash together unless you get KG or someone like that. This team was so damned close, they can win it with their current roster. And if some drunken GM takes the Suns 24, next years Atlanta pick and someone like James Jones for say #8, the Suns will be even closer.

That would be the ideal I think at this point. That way the Suns keep 29.

Amare/KT/Noah/Marks
Marion/Diaw/Noah
Hill*/Diaw/Marion/Bell/Piatkowski
Bell/Barbosa/Koponen(29)
Nash/Koponen/Banks

*The Suns HAVE to sign Hill if they move Jones, they'll really need a reliable SF.
