Something happened when Juliet hit the bomb, but did it really go off? Or did what she do just "push" everyone back to the current time? We never actually saw an atomic explosion. And the island being underwater wasn't real--it was part of Jack's purgatory.

so, I've got a question re: the bomb/Juliet. Didn't she say "it worked" to Sawyer right before she died? WHAT WORKED? That was said in "real time", right? not in purgatory?

IIRC, that was what Miles heard her say when he listened to her dead thoughts.

In real time, she said "let's get a cup of coffee sometime" and the we'll go dutch line before she died. In the limbo, she said "it worked" about the candy machine unplugging, and then when they had their awakening in that scene she and sawyer said "let's get a cup of coffee sometime" and "we'll go dutch." There is a lot of overlap between the limbo world and the dying last words of Juliet, plus the Miles "it worked" message being relayed. When dying in real time, it seemed like she was traveling to the limbo world and back to real time, flitting in and out of death.

I adored that awakening scene because of the overlap and the emotion in it. I need to track down the script of both her real time death and the finale awakening scene of her and Sawyer...

If you paint a picture that looks just like a car and tell me its a bear I'm still gonna say its a car.

The problem is they painted a picture that looks exactly like a bear, and they told you it's a bear(multiple times). You just keep seeing a car for some reason.

The sideways world was never a sideways world, they made it seem like it was an alternate universe happening at the same time as the island, but the big reveal at the end explained that it wasn't a sideways world at all.

They are replaying the episode tonight, you should rewatch the final church scene and listen closely to Christian Shepard's speach. It really does explain pretty much everything.

I think I saw that. Did it also star Cilian Murphy?

What's the connection?

If I explain too much it would ruin the movie but let's just say very interesting parallels to the last episode of Lost.

Gave up on it halfway through. They were all dead, right? Some sort of purgatory?
