Jurecki linked to a Chicago Tribune story by Dan Pompei which basically says the Bears failed Williams as much as vice-versa. He was injuried his rookie season and never got the chance to develop at his best position left tackle. The Bears played him only 7 games at left tackle then moved him all over the place stunting any opportunity he had to develop into a decent starting left tackle.

If left tackle is really his best position, plug him in there and pull Batiste.

If they feel hes our guy, we cant let him leave the building.

Worse yet, we'll lose another T to the Eagles in FA.

Wouldn't it be so ironic if the Cardinals signed Chris Williams, put him in at LT and the Cards had significantly better pass blocking just as Kolb goes down with an injury and Skleton comes in to replace him. The Kolb vs. Skleton arguements would be maddening.

Ironic?

Itd be friggin awesome. Wed for once have a shored up LT spot.

Listen, if we make the moves to fix this Oline now, we can still salvage this season. We have a 4-2 headstart. With a better line, I think Skelton, and Kolb when he comes back in a few weeks, and string together enough wins to get us into the postseason.

Just with all the arguements that the line blocks better for Skelton, and what Kolb would be able to do with good blocking and ect... I truely wonder if the message board would explode.

To the point of Chris Williams, I can't see how Arizona lets him leave town. Even if he is not that good, (which is what his history is) he is at least a better athlete than Batiste and should be able to protect the inside gap.

Man this could be a god send if it panned out. The thought of us getting Mike Gandy production from him and allowing us to go have Brown battle Massie for the RT spot next year would be tremendous. I doubt it will play out that way, but I can put on red glasses for a little bit.

I love him already for no reason

No kidden. D Bell was like the golden goose in preseason FA.

Dudes sucks now. Which is why the Eagles are looking at Harris.

But still. Grass is always greener. In our case, its true. Our grass is a friggin lava pit full of bags of burning dog poop.

He's no Eric Winston.

Stupid Cardinals

Winston is a R-tackle

That said: I wanted us to go out at the start of the offseason and sign Beisal and Winston to cover our right side. Good enough for the Texans... Good enough for me.

Come come now. It's not ALL on Batiste. The schemes and play calling the coaches make have to have a clue as well. He's a b/u thrust in a starters role...at LT no less.

If we can get 2 less sacks/game because of this signing, this was an upgrade. I know letting 4 sacks/game is still HORRIBLE, but it's better than 6/game

We could win on 4 sacks per game. We avg 6-7 right now. Thats basically an additional 2 or 3 dead drives which we wind up punting.

Weve been in each of these 2 losses. 4 Sacks? Wed be 6-0 right now.

If I remember correctly, Winston was a FA for about 5 minutes before he was snatched up. He got an offer he couldnt refuse.

With that said. Hed be a galactic upgrade over Massie, but hes not AS good as hes being paid now.

With our luck he'll get hurt during the workout.

Do people get how many injuries we've already had? Both tackles, both QB's, our top 3 RB's have all been hurt, our FB is hurt, our top TE has been hurt, our RG is playing hurt. AW missed a game, Dockett missed a game, Rhodes is hurt.

I realize the NFL is a tough league but man 6 games in we've had so many injuries to key guys.

What about all the times our QB has to throw the ball away because of the pressure? No lost yards but a lost down. How many did Kolb have Sunday 3-4-5?

Im more concerned with Skelton. The only QB in the NFL who throws it away from pressure, and it still gets picked.

He is an outside the box QB. Mysterious man that Double Deuce is.

Both tackles? Levi Brown clearly, but Jeremy Bridges had already lost his starting job to D'Anthony Batiste, who was largely seen here as (1) a disaster as a RT in the preseason and (2) a placeholder until Massie was ready to take over the starting job. Bridges was only going to be a 5th lineman here had Levi stayed healthy.

Guys are hurt all over the NFL. Revis on IR. Polumalu out. Jared Allen skipped practice today. Cassel got concussed, so did RG3. We were remarkably healthy the last two years; we were just crappy. Now we're regressing to the mean on the injury front.

Bally’s Sports needs to go away
Regardless of what he's done, he's better than what we have. He's potentially better than Brown or Massie (meaning Brown could move back to RT next year, or Williams could beat out Brown). OR, he's a depth signing on a line that has no depth.

We need him as much as he needs a chance to prove himself. He has to be better than a guy backing up Bautiste at worst, and at best he may keep us from losing every QB to injury this year. Otherwise, we'll end up with the wrong Hasselbeck again.

Bridges lost the RT job to Massie not the LT to Batiste. Personally I think as I said repeatedly we would have eventually put Bridges at LT if he wasn't out for the year.

Name another NFL team that has had their #1 and #2 QB miss several games with injury. Skelton missed 4 games and Kolb is now going to miss several. Show me the same team that has both their #1 and #2 RB out.

I don't see what not having injuries the last 2 years has to do with having so many this season to starters?
