Poor Carolina. They went through a 2-14 season for another year of Jimmy Clausen and Matt Moore.

Hey, I think Luck made the wrong choice in not coming out but he still has 8 more days to change his mind. If not maybe we go 0-16 next year insuring us we get him :D

Luck is a redshirt sophomore. He could conceivably make the same decision next year.

Seriously bad move. Yes, it may still work out for him, but there's only two ways this can go: it stays the same, or it gets worse. There is no getting better.

Each of us must march to our own drum. If Luck is happy with his decision then good for him. Some people put other things ahead of money. As fans we appear to look at all such decision based on money. Luck has money as a lower priority than education in his life. Good for him. Go for the gold ring. If staying in school is his highest priority then by all mean do it.

I graduated from college rather late in my career and I vividly recall driving home from the U. of Nebraska thinking I had fulfilled one of the most important things on my Bucket List. I never even dreamed I would get to go to college much less graduate on the Deans Honor list. Luck obviously has some values most people cannot even get their brain around.

When I was in college as a teen one of my frat brothers was from a very very rich family from Chicago. He was the star running back on our football team and an A student. He seemed destined to have it all. When he graduated he joined the Air Force and became a fighter pilot. He immediately volunteered for duty in Korea. He was shot down and killed on one of his very first missions. He did no have to volunteer for Korea. He could have easily gone to work with his family business and become an instant millionaire. He chose the road less traveled. Other people at that time were trying to figure out how not to go to Korea. Wally just had different values than many. Some of my high school buddies joined the Guard thinking that would keep them out of Korea. Sadly their unit was almost immediately activated and sent to Korea, The writing was on the wall for me so I joined the Air Force and became a pilot. So where do they send me? Iceland. Things often work in mysterious ways. As it turned out my squadron in Iceland lost 6 crew members due to accidents. Statistically I would have had a better chance of living by going to Korea than in Iceland. What drove Pat Tillman. our great DB, who was making more than a million dollars join the Army Special Forces? His motives were not money and had to be pure. His job was one of the most dangerous in the Army and he was in this unit by choice. We are fortunate to have guys like Luck, Tillman, etc who put things other than money as their goal in life. Tillman will always be remembered for his service in the Army long after we forget his football exploits. What a guy! What a role model! Luck will be a success in life where he ever takes another snap or not. His abilities extend far beyond football. Why did Sandy Koufax quit baseball at the height of his career and at a young age? He could have earned millions and millions more.

Come on, nobody?!

Fair enough. You're probably right.

I think I'm the least mature 45 year old I know.

Although a friend of mine's son was dating a girl awhile back and I had them both over for dinner, both 19 at the time. I was trying to think of the name of the concert in So Cal in 83 or 84 which was the US Festival. So I said what was the name of that concert my senior year in highschool, and without batting an eye the girlfriend said "Woodstock?"

I laughed and said just how old do you think I am?

I still think Luck changes his mind and comes out this year. The 9ers are in great position to trade up to Carolina and take Luck. Luck has a chance to A) stay close to Stanford and finish his degree part time B) be re-united with his college coach C) stay close to where he went to school. If Luck changes his mind I very easily see the 9ers trading whatever it takes to Carolina to get him.

7 days & counting...He may but, I would be suprised. If he does maybe Harbaugh & the Niners will have some tampering charges filed against them.
