So far? As in one game? Win or lose - one game does not make a season. It's pretty hard to make assumptions about a team based off one game. That's a pretty small sample to use IMO.

We have seen this D use all types of methods to get pressure over the last two years. I find it very hard to believe that we simply can't do it now based off one game.

I agree totally. Did no one notice that Wilson took more snaps 10 or 15 yards from the LOS in that game than he did the last 8 games of last season? I'd be very, very surprised if we don't blitz from all angles over the course of this game. We did not see much of our blitz packages in the Niners game.

I'm looking forward to this game much, much more than the SF game. This is the type of game where we really have nothing to lose. No one really expects us to win and we get a shot at them at home in December, even if we do lose. I think we will respond well. I was dreading the Niners game, but I'm almost 180 on this one. I'm optimistic about seeing a good performance from us.

I think we'll play well too, certainly better than last week. But to come away with a win on the road against a Seattle team that is much more talented than us is going to require a great performance. Something we did not come close to achieving last week in any apsect other than in the passing game.

As long as we play well and hard though I won't be concerned as 99% of Cardinals fans marked this off as a loss going into the season. However if we roll over in the second half and let Alexander run rampant over the defense as we saw both games last year I'm going to very worried about our long-term prospects.

the strong part of the cardinals defense is the secondary. i feel the cardianls should consitrate to take alexander away from the game like the lions did. alexander is the key to the seahawks offense. i would make the qb beat the cardinals. i don't think he can do it.

the cardinals o-line will improve this game. i believe that james will go over 100 yards this game. warner is going to light up the seahawks defense. i said in a earlier post that the last team with the ball is going to win this game.

fyi - hasselbeck is a very good QB - despite all the problems last week he completed 25 out of 30 balls - would of been higher if not for a couple very good defensive breakups - he is capable of beating teams

Huh? I must be following a different cardinals team then

Too funny!! I was about to post the same thing... Our secondary is the weakest part of our defense! And since we can't stop the run either, we often need to play A-Dub up in the box, further opening the passing lanes...

The secondary is the weakest part of our D even though we have ranked 9th and 12th respectivley over the last two years? Right...

you know what, bring it on! I cant wait for sunday. This game will, in my mind, tell us a lot about where this team lies right now. Much respect to Seattle, but I garuntee you they are equally concerned about us. Two teams, both legitimate contenders for the division (edge to Seattle tho) with two coaches on the hot seat- Green for his job, Holmgren for the mere fact that seattle has taken a 3rd mortgage out to finance this one trip. I am not alluding to the fact that either of them will lose their jobs over this, but we may look back at this game as a pivot point in the season. It is huge, no doubt. Arizona has a real chance to make a statement right now (remember the 02' niner game we went into at 4-2 and just tanked after that? :barf:) and seattle has a lot to prove to themselves after their outing last week. Damn, I got butterflies, but this is going to be a great game.

I will reserve my prediction, I could see it 33-31 or 9-6, with either team coming out alive. The cards just better be ready to show up!

ok, enough of the rah rah...

The Defensive line, mainly the interior, is far weaker than the secondary. They can't hold up against the run and get no pressure on the passer from the middle. They can't even clear lanes for our blitzes.

Those guys must step up their play next Sunday.

After rewatching the game last night I did notice that we pretty much only rushed our 4 or 5 down linemen and didn't mix it up much like Harry mentioned. I don't recall seeing our DL stunt at all and only counted a hand full of blitzes. I think that Wilson blitzed once and Green blitzed from his corner position once. This truely was a very vanilla defense for Pendergast.

i don't agree BUT if your point of view is right....it will be katie bar the door every week....i wouldn't base the play of the DL on one week...however i will stand by the secondary being the weakest....even though we have improved the DL...which should translate into better DB play, however we did nothing of consequence to add to the DB's...so i'll stand by my position...but clearly agree we need to see more by all against the hawks.

On paper, the secondary is the weakest link. If you think that our rush defense was worse than our logic defense, then logic would tell us that either the D line or the linebackers would be the weaker link.

Our dline on paper is the strongest link, but arguable produced the worst results.
