Damn. I'd be all about Manning holding it down for a couple years while Skelton learns directly from him. Talk about a legitimate QBOF scenario....

I am extremely concerned about the price tag even if we waive Kolb. We have a long shopping list and Manning will more than likely take up a large portion of the pie.

No we don't. Other than a replacement for Levi Brown and Paris Lenon the team is in good shape.

The only thing really keeping the Arizona Cardinals from being one of the top 5-10 teams in the NFL this fall is not having quality QB play.

Methinks Manning may not like how Edge was dumped by Whis...

I have been away for at least a month because of all the Manning talk. Looking forward to coming back... eventually.

Since tomorrow now will be a joint press conference, I wonder how many Cardinals fans will kill over from heart failure when Peyton announces his retirement? ;):D

We had 10 rushes to 52 passes to illistrate why Levi was all in poor position to succeed, most games were closer to this balance of playcalling, illistrating my point about Levi bRown. one of manty examples.

Of course, the Cardinals all but abandoned the ground game when they fell far behind, a situation that the Colts' defensive line relished.
"We kind of lick our chops," Freeney said. "This is what we want."
Indianapolis safety Antoine Bethea recovered a fumble at the 5 to stop one Arizona drive and intercepted a deflected pass in the end zone to thwart another

Colts win track meet
After playing in two physical games to open the season, the Colts' defense dominated the Cardinals in a wide-open affair that played to Indianapolis' strength. With Peyton Manning and Co. racing out to an early 21-3 lead, the defense unleashed a ferocious pass rush that kept Kurt Warner on the run. Dwight Freeney, Robert Mathis and Raheem Brock combined for four sacks. Their presence also led to two interceptions. The Colts used the threat of the blitz to confuse the opposing offensive line, but primarily relied on pressure from their front four to generate heat on Warner. In addition, Indy moved Freeney around to take advantage of favorable matchups in passing situations. With the Cardinals intent on creating a track meet, the Colts relied on the speed and explosiveness of their defensive line to keep Arizona off balance.

My 2 cents. I think our defense would be even better with a QB of Manning's caliber. I think Manning desires and gets respect. I think our defense would treat Manning alot different than they treat Shelton or Kolb...who seem to always leave the defense in bad situations. I also think with Warner succeeding here at his age, Manning will definitely weigh that alot!

I really think Manning signs with.....the Cardinals. The indoor stadium, the recent Super Bowl run we had shows we are capable; and Larry Fitzgerald, who he knows, will put as much effort into studying as he does. Plus I think Whiz will let Manning run the show.

I would be shocked if he signed anywhere else....And now unfortunately this now becomes huge for us. In my opinion if we don't get Manning, it is a huge let down. Because If we go hard after him...and don't get him...we obviously will have Shelton starting. Now he is ok but he no way near elite. And I think if we come real close in signing Manning and don't get him, that will be a huge let down.

I only see Miami as a possible other destination. With his Neck injury...No way he signs with a team with bad nasty weather.

So if Manning is in fact released some time this a.m. how long will it take for him to sign somewhere? I figure by Friday he will be signed somewhere....hopefully wearing red..... Cardinal red, that is....:newcards:

Because he is being released, he can sign before the FA period begins, right? I am a little confused to how that works.

I know about the 28m. I know about Andrew Luck. I know all about the logistics of the situation. But part of me just absolutely cannot believe that Peyton Manning got released. :thud:
