I'll tell you what, watch Ohio State's putrid offense this Saturday against Michigan. Then remember Clarett got this offesne to the National Champioship beating Miami(Wally you remember that don't you :p ) and ran for 1200+ yards and 15 TD's.

Outside of his running ability one play that stood out was during the NC game when the Miami player was running back a fumble recovery and Clarett caught him from behind and knocked it out. Say what you want about the kid but he plays hard and cares about more than his rushing stats.

Has anyone read the Clarett article in ESPN the Magazine this issue? It is a very good article and explains a lot . Quite honestly Claretts truly big mistake in all this was when OSU was going to allow him back in January of this year if he met two conditions: 1. Work out every morning at 6am at the OSU facilities and 2. Maintain a 3.5 GPA. The problme was the 3.5 GPA was pretty unreachable for a kid like Clarett so it wasnt gonna happen. He decided instead of trying to just declare for the draft.

He is extremely talented. And I dont think he is nearly as bad a guy as the press, ESPN, and OSU has made him out to be. He has made some bad decisions but he is not a 'bad guy'

His own teammate thinks he is a bad guy.

Direct quote from Alex Step - "He hasn't been truthful in the past, so why would he be now? I know Coach (Jim) Tressel personally, and I don't believe any of the allegations."

Step also did an interview on ESPN radio and didnt come right out and say it but you could tell he hates the guy.

Clarrett also left a bad taste in most of the teams mouths at the combine in the interview process. Most went away from it thinking he was an immature punk and completly took him off of there draft board.

In this case there is a bunch of reasons ESPN, OSU, and the media show him as a bad guy, becuase he has proven them right time after time. The kid is an immature punk, simple as that. He needs to grow up, being surrounded with veterans I think that can happen

Now the question is can he change enough to be an effective part of a team, yes, everyone can change. He needs to grow up, being surrounded with veterans I think that can happen. Would I take a gamble on him in the 4th round yes, and maybe in the late 3rd depending on who is left.

I have a feeling he's going to end up a Cardinal. He's a definite Denny pick. The thing that would be interesting is that he'd be playing with Step. Step recently said he doesn't believe Clarett at all and he sides with Ohio State. I wonder how happy Denny was about Step speaking out about Clarrett?

He played 1 year of college football, didn't prove to be the most durable player, by the time he is drafted he will have 2 years without playing a down and he has some serious character issues. I wouldn't touch him until very late in the draft(5th round or later), we need a guy who can be counted on right away if they use a first day pick.

I would draft him as early as 3rd round. I would have drafted him in the Third this year had he been eligible. I don't think he makes it past the 2nd when he does get eligible. Playmakers like him (even though he has only done it for a year) don't grow on trees and if we passed at say the 48 overall pick I think we would be shooting ourselves in the foot at that spot. RB is a need pick and he could make a differance.
