What does everyone think of him?

Pretty impressive debut, going 2-3 with 2 rbi's and a walk.

Maybe this is the shot of energy that we need right now.

Also, hes a pretty solid utility player, hes able to play all INF positions and the corner OF positions. I didn't think he was going to be promoted this early, but hey I'm all for the young guys

I liked him in the AZFL. He swung and missed a lot but eased up and made contact with two strikes. His power really impressed me(especially an opposite field bomb). His best position is probably 2nd base.

What else is new? Chad Tracy, Conor Jackson...:)
At times he makes those guys look like gold glove winners. Bad defense isn't a good thing to have on your resume if you're projected to be a career utility infielder.

I'll give Chad Tracy credit- his defense has been just fine so far this year. I'm one of the first to bag on him but he hasn't hurt us defensively and he has rebounded nicely from his early offensive slump. It's good to see, lets hope he can keep it up.

I won't harp on Reynolds because I have seen little of him. However, every scout says that he has a low MLB level ceiling because he can't figure his defense out. He can't find a place where he's good at and having him at 3B seems to be a disaster waiting to happen. Lets hope he can prove everyone wrong, he seems to be swinging the bat good

Reynolds was quoted as saying that he started off badly, but his defense had been settling down.

I wonder if that's wishful thinking or not.

I heard he had like 12 errors in the minors this year. Is that true?

No one questions his ability at the plate, but scouts wonder where he fits defensively, and the 12 errors he amassed at Double-A support the concerns. But Reynolds said he began to play better at third base recently.

"Early in the season, it was a real struggle, mainly with the throwing," he said. "I worked hard every day at getting on top (with my throws), and now I'm feeling really comfortable."

6 RBI's in less than his first full week in the Major Leagues.

Fielding -- no problem. Hitting over .340.

How are they going to bench Mark Reynolds when Tracy returns? I hope they don't . . . but they will.

Jackson hitting .288/.400/.441 for an 841 OPS in May.
You're right. It looks like some of the young guys (Drew, Young and Tracy) are stepping it up a notch, as well. I hope that Quinton can do the same.

But it still would be a shame to relegate Reynolds to the bench when Tracy returns. (Per today's article in the Republic, Chad Tracy has been doing alot to help Reynolds acclaimate.)

Reynolds has played 1B, 2B, SS, 3B and LF. At worst, give him plenty of playing time covering those positions. Give Callaspo his walking papers.

It would still be a shame to not have the RBI machine -- Reynolds -- playing regularly.

If he keeps this up, he will be able to purchase many people's first born in a couple years. Anyone know a link where I could look at this kid's history?

SECOND HR of the night for REynolds, only 7th Dback with 5 hits in a game.

5-for-5 with a triple and 2 homers -- 4 RBI's and 4 runs scored. The man is an RBI machine.

Is Bob Melvin even entertaining thoughts of benching him when Tracy returns?

Meanwhile, Montero 0-1 with three walks, batting 8th. Pitch around him much?

I wish Melvin would move him to #1 Catcher and give him a chance. They say he is a superior fielder and handler of Pitchers. Play him for more than one game at a time.

Hopefully the Dbacks will ride this while it lasts, Reynolds will catch Matt Kata disease. Don't get me wrong, I like Reynolds as a decent prospect, but he just isn't this good. Even at the AA level he had a lot of holes in his swing (not to mention glove) exposed, big league pitching won't take too long to adjust.
