Teammates didn't think they were cancers. They were simply hated by the fans, not the other players on the team.

I mean that's ok that fans hated them, but to call them cancers to the locker room and to other players is just not true based upon the people actually on the court. There is a reason the Morii constantly stress FOE.

Given the choice between your opinion and those teammates and former Suns, well… Like I said, I'm glad both of them are far away from that organization.

When you're killing your own team with idiotic Ts and screaming at the coaches, you're a cancer. Michael Beasley's teammates liked him too, he was also a cancer.

There probably isn't a better coach in the league for the Morii than Earl Watson. So it's a shame timing didn't allow for that combination to take place. Or, perhaps better stated, the Morii and their actions didn't allow for that combination to take place.

That said, I definitely do not totally excuse the Suns (specifically Sarvar) from being problematic, not only in the case of the Morii, but also with Dragic. Goran, who never has a bad thing to say about anyone, was uncharacteristically harsh on the Suns at the time he was traded to the Heat. IIRC, I believe he actually stated that he could never "trust" them again. So, while I do believe the Morii are imbeciles whom, if the NBA ever administered it, would score below Vince Young on the wunderlic test, I also believe that Sarver is a growing problem for this team...

SVG seems to love Marcus and he's fitting in well there. I don't think they are stupid either. Passionate and hot headed definitely, but not stupid.

Yes, its my fault and the fault of the franchise that he screamed at refs, was lazy on defense and on the glass and was a mediocre shooter. Get your same lines ready for Wizards fans in a few years.

Almost every fan here was for Markieff taking over the starting PF spot from Frye after the 2013-14 season. He may not have been considered a fan favorite but no one hated him. Some were down on his rebounding but that's about it. Since that season and getting handed the starting gig he's been nothing but a nuisance. All of the issues he's had, towel throwing, trash talking fans, stupid technicals, demanding a trade, etc are all things he did that turned the fanbase against him. He has no one to blame but himself.

Cam Newton's post Super Bowl comment: "We didn't lose that game because of that fumble, I can tell ya that!" comes to mind...

Where did the love fest for Markieff come from?

The twins didn't endear themselves to fans and FO for a lot of reasons although it didn't start out that way. The Suns wanted to keep them together on a great deal but their behavior got in the way. Now I'm supposed to feel sorry for them? The twins made their own bed.

Well, DET fans don't mind Marcus and neither does the team…

So, you can assume what you want to make yourself feel better as a fan. Not my place. I'm just glad it they don't have to deal with you anymore is all.

lol, you really like to make stuff seem personal. Nothing what I said was based on assumptions. He often played lazy, he got stupid Ts, he screamed at his coaches. Now you might feel that those are all fine qualities in a player, I don't. I would consider that kind of player to be a cancer.

And Detroit fans think Marcus blows ass, which he does. He might blow ass while being well behaved, but he stinks.

Yes, when it comes to Jayhawks I take things personally.

Detroit can like Marcus all they want, it doesn't make his actions in Phoenix acceptable. Maybe getting traded helped him mature some? Who knows. As for Markieff, he may have been liked by other players here and that's fine but it wouldn't surprise me if there was some sort of "My side or the coaches side" sort of division that led to Hornacek being fired and caused locker room issues. For chemistry issues to be present it doesn't necessarily have to be issues between 2 players or more, it could be just as likely that the players tune out the coach. I suspect there was a lot of that going on here in Phoenix before Jeff was canned.

Its all about fit. I think a coach like Stan Van Gundy is capable of keeping Marcus Morris in check. However, I don't think Randy Whitman has the ability to do the same for Kieff but we'll see because he does have friends and former teammates on the team in Gortat and Dudley who may help him out.

I'm glad their both gone from the Suns because it was never going to work here.

Kieff flips off fans, gets more techs than almost anyone in the league, throws towels in coaches faces, sandbags a half season, starts fights with HIS OWN TEAMMATE on the bench, AND ASSAULTED a guy OFF the court half his size... WITH HIS POS BROTHER. That's a guy you're defending?

LOL... man, when you're inside a bubble, you are REALLY inside a bubble.

Almost every single aspect that you mentioned is incredibly exaggerated.

- He never threw a towel in the coaches face
- sandbagging the season is merely a suspicion and likely false based on what we know
- calling the Goodwin and Morris scuffle a fight is just wrong
- in the assault case it is actually as far as I know Markieff is only mentioned as bystander and not actively involved

You were on a roll, I am surprised you didn't mention that he choked Goodwin. /s

Slin, Cheese. Its kind of fun to watch the two of you go at it. When you all first showed up here, I thought were both the same guy.

The part of this whole thing that I've never quite understood is the idea that the twins gave the Phoenix Suns some big break with their contract. IIRC they signed the contract this summer after Markieff had his "breakout" season. I put that in quotes because looking at that season alone it probably still only made him at best a middle tier starter at power forward and that may be generous. Marcus on the other hand had done nothing. Seemed like a bunch of us thought at the time that they probably paid about the right place for Markieff and Marcus was lucky his brother was generous.

They also signed this "bargain deal" a year before they were restricted free agents, didn't they? If so you would expect them to get paid a little less since the team was committing to two players with long-term contracts a year before they had to do it.

I can understand why these guys would be upset, but I've just always questioned the whole notion that they gave the Phoenix Suns a break on the contracts so they could stay together.

Add to that, the Suns put a number out there and the twins said "ok". They didn't have to.
