The comparison really shouldn’t be between Ram and Cardinal personnel –

The comparison that matters for Ram fans is Marmie vs Lovie Smith.

I don’t think any Ram fan can be confident that the Rams got equal ability. Large downgrade is more likely.

Marmie certainly had a few games where he confused the opposition, but those were outnumbered by at least a 3 to 1 margin by games where the other teams offense totally exposed and abused the defensive game plan.

I dont think Larry Marmie can do a thing about the offensive plays that Martz calls

Would Marmie have had a defense to stop a 3rd and 15 (or so) completion that went for a 69 yard touchdown? Yes and no. His defense wouldnt have given up the td................


but I feel pretty confident he would have given up at least the 15 for a first down................................

and then probably three or four other first downs, until the Carolina kicker ended it.

i for one think that in marmie's three seasons as the defensive coordinator, it was mainly his defense that kept games competitive, and actually was more influential in the wins that we had.

i hope him the best as i hope that mcginnis finds a good job as well. if there was any coaches who i think should never work in the NFL again it would be rich olson, joe greene, our the defensive backs coach before whoever was here last year. but for the past three seasons it has been our offense that has consistently put us in teh toilet and usually taken us out of games.

I think Olsen called a better game than Sullivan. I think our offense would have been better this year had Olsen been here. Sullivan was completely over his head. In one game they cut to a camera shot of him in the booth and he looked overwhelmed. I think it was a few games after he wanted to resign as OC.
