IMHO the Cards can find a WR later in the draft and since its supposed to be a semi-ball control offense getting a sure-handed WR means more than a fastburner with drop issues.

I hope they do that. The success rate of rookie wide receivers drafted in the first round has been extremely bad for numerous years. I like Ridley and Moore, but history is against them.

I'm warming up to the idea of Jackson. I think he can at least be a decent starter.

I either want Jackson, Vander Each, or a corner. Draft a receiver round 2 or 3.

Based on this and what Gambo has confirmed recently, here are the QBs the Cards are most interested in:

J Allen
Darnold
Mayfield
Rosen
Lauletta
Falk
White

Which means you can probably cross Jackson & Rudolph off the list. Sorry LJ & MR honks. The reason I strongly believe these are the guys is all are smart and accurate (save Allen).

If this is truly the list, good job Cards!
I don't know where you get your info but there's no reason to believe Jackson and Rudolph aren't on the list. Cards scouted and met Rudolph many times, I'm sure he's an option.

Jurecki doesn't know squat...

Hate to burst your bubble, but it wasn’t just Jurecki! Gambo and I believe Somers have also confirmed the same information. I tend to believe those two over Jerky.

The Cards have scouted lots of guys closely over the years that they didn’t end up drafting. Now if they end up drafting Jackson or Rudolph, I will gladly eat crow and admit I was wrong. I just don’t see it happening.

I agree. We have no idea who they really want and any overt avoidance on their part is almost seen as a 'yes' to deceive other teams in my opinion, but I think if you want Lauletta or Rudolph, you might want to pull the trigger no later than the early second round because this really is a crop of young QBs with possibilities if they are in the right system. I think McCoy and his open approach with a offense currently in flux is an ideal scenario for any young QB taken into the fold to craft an offense on their strengths :raccoon:

Was watching NFL network yesterday and they were talking Cards draft. They seem to think WR ( Calvin Ridley Alabama) and think Cards will likely pick a QB to develop sometime after RD1.
with Larry being in his 15th year and our WR room being limited...saying we will pick a WR in the first is just low hanging fruit.

If we had a top five pick they would all be saying QB.... if we were attempting to "replace" Larry... Sutton would be a better choice than Ridley....and why select Ridley in the first when Washington or Kirk can be had in the second? or even Miller in the third perhaps?
most of those guys on nfln just like to attach "big names" to fit what they think is a teams biggest need.... as far as our "team" goes....Ridley is not likely the best pick at 15...
we are switching to a 4-3 and have a 28 year old whodat at MLB.... we also have a top 15 nfl backup at RT. our all everything star CB is 28 as well, sometime soon we need to start thinking about drafting his replacement as well...all of those are needs at positions with less overall depth than WR in this draft.

Correct, there are no sure fire number one WRs in this draft, but a lot might be special with some seasoning. I think the Cards want Kirk as bad as they wanted Baker last draft and that extra third pick is being traded to ensure we get him :)
