I believe he will be a UFA. He made himself a lot of money today. He was 31/44 for 480 yards, 6 td's and 1 int against the Lions.

This is the second time I have seen him start, the first was the great game he played last year against the Pats.

But how much does the system, and the excellent protection throughout that game, have to do with it?

You have a good point, is this a case of the system? I don't see how we will ever be able to fully evaluate a QB until we fix the OL. Fixing the OL will benefit all phases of our team.

I would rather pay Flynn than Kolb next year.

I'd say it's a combination of both, because that would be calling Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre (to an extent) system QB's.

However, we said the same things about Kevin Kolb too. That being said, I like Flynn.

All successful QBs are complimented by what surrounds them. I'm not implying you plug any QB into it and find it work, but good teams draft and develop talent that works within that scheme and if that talent leaves for a team that mis-evaluates what that player can do in their scheme, you have trouble.

GB, when adjusting for QBs holding onto the ball and/or coverage sacks they're about average. Their real problem has been depth on the left.

I wonder if the Pack franchises him and deals him like the Pats did with Cassell.

They have too much talent all over that roster to risk using their franchise tag on a backup. I think he will end up walking.

My money is on him being a Redskin unless one of the top QBs slip to them in the draft.

I think they will franchise him after setting up a deal with all parties. I would think they will get a 2nd rounder or better, which means we stay with Kolb.

What about the transition tag? Does that still exist in the new CBA? The old transition tag allowed the team to match offers, I believe.

They Have finley and jordy nelson ending their contract
Nelson was re-signed during the year. It would be cost prohibitive to franchise a backup QB unless, as someone mentioned, they have a deal in place like NE did with Cassell. Flynn won't break the bank in free agency but he'll probably get a deal similar to what Kolb got. I wonder what the Cards think internally about Kolb's longterm health with those concussions. Could they let Kolb go and try Flynn and Skelton? It wouldn't surprise me if they are concerned about KK.

How could they not be? It's really a bad situation, imo

Flynn reminds me a heckuva lot of Drew Brees in size and play.
