I think it's a bit of a sucker's errand.
No rhythm, no chemistry with the first team.

I'm still refraining from judgment until he gets a few more starts under him.

Whis has proven to be manipulator and schemer when it comes to motivating his players. It wouldn't surprise me at all if a large part of this is was by design.

In other words, put up or shut up. Whis has to decide if a QB is in the next draft or trade or we stick with the million dollar QOF.

I've seen enough. Coach will probably play it out to the end of the season.

Don't want Tebow to be near this team. He will be a huge bust if he stays at QB in the NFL. Only way I would touch him is if we take him in the 4th round and move him to TE.

I sure don't know how people are so confident that Tebow won't make it as a QB. I've heard just about everyone from TV experts to fans proclaim with certainty that he "can't" be an NFL QB but I'm just amazed at such statements. I mean, look in the Cardinals own back yard. Kurt Warner. Then there's Tom Brady. Or Joe Montana.

If there's one certainty about predicting QB's from college to the NFL it's that there is no certainty. I think Tebow should land in Jacksonville and help that franchise get some excitement....or passion about their team. Garrard has a canon for an arm but that doesn't translate to offense. I see no reason they couldn't stick Tebow in their next year and at least tread water.

Matty's pass was a good one but there was a miscommunication between him and Fitz. Matt went to the sideline and Fitz took it in. Given more time together that doesn't happen

As a gator fan!!! Bring on Tebow!!!

Ohh HELL no!!!!

He reaks of Danny Wuerffel and Chris Leak. Other polished QBs from UF that couldnt hold their own in the NFL.

If he wants to have a look at an NFL field, he'll have to enter as an H-Back or Tight End.

I still have memories of Brent Musberger slobbering all over about the wonderfulness of all things Tebow in the Championship game last year. I hope Florida doesn't make it this year cuz I can't take any more of that.

As a late round project, bring him in and let him try.
A pick in three rounds?
A gamble.

Felt bad for Matt...

It's like your dad gives you the keys to the car for the 1st time...And you bump the curb. UGH! Time will tell if Matt's got the goods to lead the team. Personally, I think he does. :) GO CARDS! :D

I was in Newport Beach, CA over the weekend and My Lord! I had forgotten how USC-oriented those people are. The first words my own nephew said to me were, "You think we're going to see Matt Leinart play on Sunday?" People found out I was a Cards fan and all they could talk about was Matt. One actual quote: "Matt Leinart was the greatest quarterback of all time until he broke his collar bone." O.K. So that was from an 11-year-old but it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out he'd heard that from his father.

Amazing.

Pretty sure that was Thom Brenneman, "If you spend even 5 or 20 minutes with Tim Tebow, your life will be better for it" :biglaugh:

I only know because it was irritating me also.

Its kinda like people forget how good Leinart was... I am a ASU fan so I hate USC but what Leinart did in college was incredible! I think Matt will be fine and we will be very thankful we have him if Kurt goes down or when KW retires which may be after this year you never know.

Leinart hasnt had a fair shake yet.

His first year, he became the starter in the 4th or 5th game of the season (forgot which one). He was apart of a broken system with a lame duck coach who knew he was going to get clipped after the MNF game. The O-Line was horrible that season.

Then a new regime comes in and completely changes everything. Kind of intimidating for a young QB with a lot to prove. Whis didnt have a lot of confidence in Leinart. He kept pulling him in key situations, not giving him a chance to adjust to the new system. Then he goes down with the collar bone and Kurt goes nuts for the rest of the season. And the following season, he is benched because of one bad preseason game.

Now hindsight, Kurt deserved to be the starter and it was the best thing for Leinart to observe a former MVP and Superbowl winner to show him how to be a leader and to dictate an offense.

The maturity was apparent in the preseason. He has worked on some of his weaknesses, such as throwing off his back foot and pocket awareness. I could tell from training camp and preseason games that he has got his zip back on the ball and he is in much better shape, large in part to his training with Tom Brady and (of all things) the MMA.

I think if Leinart practices with the #1 unit more and actually gets into the game much earlier, he gets his rhythm and dictates the offense almost as well as Warner. IMO, we have the best QB situation in the league. Warner is a top 5 QB in this league and Leinart is a great safety plug.

I look forward to seeing the new and improved Leinart in the years to come.
