I don't think most people are recognizing how truly galling this is. He's the damn QB. How the hell can you expect him to read a defense if he can't even read the offense... WHICH HE JUST CALLED!

I thought it would get interesting. Instead, it played out in a very boring fashion, and now it's turning into the typical b.s. with too much he said/she said without anyone actually saying crap.

As an aside, I bought into Max Hall, finally.

Hey man, FWIW, I always respect your point of view and in particular, your unwavering support of Matt. I couldn't get on that train - but of course, had Matt become our leader I would've have cheered for him - but your fandom is never questioned.

Good to see you fall in line on Hall! He is truly the Seabiscuit of our day. Who knows what will eventually happen with the kid, but man, he does have some strong suport from a few dudes who know, far better than anyone else on this board, what it takes to play the position in the NFL.

I mean, think back to 5 years ago... there were 30 page threads about Josh McCown v. Shaun King! That's AWESOME.

He's said the right things. He's showed up for practice and studied hard. If that is all that is required, then I guess you are right.

For alot of us, Matt looked pretty content sitting on the sidelines the last few years. There is no passion, no urgency in anything he does. Maybe he is just a mellow guy, but it comes off as complacent.

Finally, there was some fire, some anger. He showed a competitive side. I am a big Matt supporter, but even I was getting a little miffed at how lackadasical he's appeared this offseason after being annointed #1 on the depth chart. It's as if jerking the starting job out from under Matt finally lit a fire. That's why I say it's about damn time.
