Nash...you choker...
Airballing the final shot...freaking pathetic...
well, Nash can't hit that shot EVERY TIME right? Oh well. This team's still got some work to do, but I'm not pissed about tonight.
we lose?
Nash had a good look, thats all I can ask for.
I put this game pretty squarely on Amare's nightmare of a first half. He was horrible on both ends of the court, and with the team being so shallow up front, they just cant afford that. He's supposed to be a 1st team All NBA guy and he's averaging like 20 points and 8 boards a night, thats just not enough if the Suns are going to be title contenders.
I know I'm going to sound like a sore loser, but I just can't see the Suns losing to the Mavs in a 7 game series. At the end of the game the Suns were getting all of their points inside and the Mavs were slowly giving up the lead because they were relying on jumpshots.
Nice effort in the second half of the 4th for the Suns though. I swear these games with the Mavs are scripted. The Suns always lose the first couple against the Mavs and then win the next couple.
Amare has never been a rebounder, he isn't. Scoring wise they don't really go to him, I think we saw what offense he thrives in and it's isn't the pansy ass kick out crap we see game in and game out.
Im not asking him to be Moses Malone, but last year he averaged right around 10 rebounds a game, thats what they need out of him. Plus, he's young, he ought to still be improving, knee injuries or not. Rebounding is more of a positioning thing that an athleticism thing anyway, if he put his mind to it, there's no reason he couldnt get 10+ boards a game. I probably sound nit picky compaining about 8 boards versus 10, but night in and night out, that makes a big difference.
His man defense is the thing Im most annoyed with, if I was him, I'd be embarrassed about being dominated by Dampier in the 1st QTR, but I bet if you ask Amare, he doesn't even know it happened, or would act like it didn't.
In response to an earlier comment I kind of like that they save the Nash/Stat pick&roll for the end of games. I've noticed this the last couple games I've seen and it seems to work well. By not overusing it throughout the game it doesn't let the defense figure it out.
