Aside from being an AZ kid, people love him for his quick reads, mobility in the pocket, and can throw with touch with pretty good zip. He made some really impressive throws in the Bears game. I personally don't think he's ready, but he could be molded into something pretty good.

Me either, normally the most loved player on the team is the backup QB. This go around, its the 4th QB that might get cut.

Mitch-itis is what I'll call it.

Yeah that. I wasn't a believer till I saw him for the first time in the Preseason. I had only read about how much the coaches love this kid.

What impressed me the most was his quick compact throwing motion and feel for the pocket. In the NFL you need a QB that can get the ball out of their hands quickly and accurately. Max has showed that ability so far. Plus the kid is very mature and seems to have a good command of the huddle. He plays like he has been in the league 2 years already.

Of all the QBs we currently have on the roster, Max Hall is the one who has impressed me the most. I really expected nothing from him and thought he would be just a camp arm. Boy did he prove me wrong.

what I like about the little I have seen:

Looks comfortable out there

Very quick release -- from the time he looks to throw to when the ball is gone: fast

Aside from the bad interception in Tennessee -- it seems like his throws are right on the money. Against Chicago -- that seam route to Komar was awesome, as well as the flag route to Gant.

If we're going to just jump off the deep end here, heck start a rookie, just toss him to the lions.

Heck that would be more entertaining than watching DA do the same old same old and having to deal with that.

Give me new suckage over old suckage any day and you never know.

Thanks for the replies.Seems i read before the draft that Hall lacked arm strength and was a dink and dunker type. What about that?

He threw some in the Bears game with some real zip.....not the throw it so hard that it sticks in their crossbars when they miss it DA style zip....but catchable zip.

four words that show he is overhuyped and doesnt deserve the credit he is getting

Undrafted Rookie Free Agent

Has there ever been one of these who has started in year one, let alone have any success? All of our QBs have a bright future so bright future doesnt come into play.

Don't be surprised if Stephen Williams does this.

In the FWIW category (and in this case it's worth very little), those of us who saw Max Hall at ASU were aghast when Koetter didn't find a way to keep him on the roster when he returned from his mission. He was by far the QB that stood out, including Sam and Rudy (and back then we all thought they were decent college QBs, so take it for what it's worth). Hall really jumped out at you the way he went about his business. He was just sharp. He did everything a little quicker than the other QBs, and throwing the ball looked easy coming out of his hands.

I guess I'm sort of surprised Hall didn't get drafted, because he looked every bit as good at BYU. I think the Cards got a great deal of quality in an undrafted rookie. I hope they don't feel obligated to keep Skelton at the expense of Hall.

Personally I like Skelton better than Hall. I see great competitors, strong, mobile, quick throw, quick reads, can spread the field and has great accuracy. They are the reasons why Leinart is going bye bye.

I can't think of one at the QB position but like they say everything that ever happens, happened for the first time. If it has happened it's probably met with disastrous results but we're in a slightly different position than most. We have a fairly decent team to put around Hall and he's quite a bit more mature than the typical rookie. One of the reasons he didn't get drafted is also one of the reasons it might work for us, he's 25 years old already.

I think in watching Hall he could probably do it.

The reason is we're not that terrible, no one knows anything about him, he seems to be a very bright kid with a lot of heart and is pretty fearless.

If you just tossed him in there, with not much time to think about it and ran I bet you he'd do a lot better than expected.

Just a guess.

Ironically if anyone should try it, it's us with our WR's and dubious line.

He seems to be the most mobile guy out there, and unlike where something like this was more likely to happen, ie a terrible team, we're not and we're stocked with options for him.

I'd be fully behind doing it just for the novelty of it, and it might happen later on, who knows, I hope he even makes the team, because it would be worth watching this year just on the odd chance this goofy situation occured.

Matt Moore had a decent finish his rookie year, but none that I can think off that started off right away. There's a first time for everything, though. "Let alone have any success" - Some good UDFA QBs are Warren Moon, Kurt Warner and Tony Romo.
