It will be fun to see the progression as teams have tape on him but he will keep learning and the playbook will be fully implemented.

Did learn during the course of this game as several have posted.

As Deserdawg posted "I'm just a fan" but IMO he has zip on the ball. That throw to Fitz to convert on 3rd down came out fast and hard.

No doubt he is tuff as nails.

Haven't seen the game yet. But based on comments it seems that he showed some moxie and showed pretty well for a young UDFA who was thrown into the fire.

Now heading into the BYE with 2 full weeks to work on all 1st team reps. develop timing with Fitz. Get some healthy WR's back in the stable. More time to work out a gameplan perfectly suited to him and his strengths.

Is it unreasonable to think he will get better?

Did you guys/gals that watched think he showed enough promise from this point right now to be able to hold down the spot at a minimum for the rest of this year?
yes and yes, the only thing he needs to reel in is his reckless sacrifice your body behavior, as his qb coach i would spend at least a full days practice working on the hook slide

He is FAR better than DA.

That's all you need to know.

He's not great...he's a rookie. But he is able to throw within the general area of Fitz so it means he's ten times the QB that DA is. DA sucks balls and I would LOVE to see him cut. NOTHING good can ever happen with him. Major efup, whis...but great call on Max.

My wife calls him Sparky.

And I think it is fitting.

He has to be the lowest paid starting QB in the league.

He is still a bottom 10 starter in the league. But we have hope. Not fear.

That is very powerful my friends.

What I liked about him was that he handled the first boneheaded pick the right way, he seems to be made correctly for the job, ie a really short forgive himself period, not forgeting it, just complete shrugging it off and resolve to do better next time.

It's a very positive and important trait for a QB, it's not being ok with interceptions it's the ability to quickly move on after filing it away on things not to do in the future.

From what I could see there was a WR wide open over the middle and he threw it into a very bad place, really bad decision but typical for a rookie.

What isn't so typical is that he seemed to deal with it fabulously well.

Yamon. :) Also kept the team in it the way Hall responded after his first pick.

He took the same hit Vick did at the goal line, and kept ticking, not bad for a midget. He got the ball to our tight end, both fumbles happened we was tying to run. He can fix that. Me happy. So is Fitz.

They have the replay on NFL.com you can see Komar breaking free so that's the guy he missed.

I guess you can expect a rookie with 3 rookie WR's and Fitz, to want to go to Fitz, but yeah classic rookie mistake.

But he did seem to learn from it, and I'm sure getting Breaston and Doucet will help.

No, it is completely reasonable to expect he will get better. After the pick on his second throw, he did not throw another INT. He already showed improvement just from the 1st half to the second.

If you told me yesterday a UDFA would go 17/27 with one pick, I would be more than happy. More importantly, he did it against the defending SB champions.

And he doesn't set up his WRs to get killed. We both saw him in training camp and I don't think he will be a legit long-ball threat. But Fitz is probably the happiest guy on the team now. 93 yards.

Plus his teammates and coaches just seem to love him. He got tons of hugs after the game from both offensive and defensive players.

This is what impressed me the most. I saw an energy from the offense that I haven't seen for a long, long time.

I'm not a big fan of "it", but Hall looks like he belongs out there.

It's early. But he's got a chance...

I absolutely think we'll get better. I'm not drinking the Max Hall kool aid but the kid made some great plays today and he made some boneheaded mistakes.

However, the great plays were awesome, the boneheaded stuff is all fixable.

One thing is forsure, Max will never cut inside and dive head first towards the goal line again. lol I was really worried about him there. I love his toughness though. He can make throws. He threaded the needle a couple of times and even drew Ohhhh's from the crowd. Just like at camp. :)

I think he just wanted to show everybody he was down for his. Elway and Vick are the ones I can think of right now that put it down like "that." I hope he doesn't do it any more.:)

I haven't seen a ball thrown with touch on it from a Cards QB since last season...until today. He made me smile and cheer on many occasions with his toughness, energy, and smarts He just looks like a leader.
Now if that miserable O-line can just protect his tiny frame and give him a running game to take some pressure off.

He most certainly has leadership ability. He also shows moxie, and a firey disposition. What I liked the most was that he owns his mistakes, (and seems to learn from them). He is also demanding others to own their mistakes, as clearly on one play, after calling the play in the huddle, he held the O-linemen there long enough to amonish them that he needs their help, and got a very solid positive response from none other than Levi Brown. This was right after he was roughed up some in the backfield.

I love the way this team, (offensively and defensively), responded to not only him, but to the way they approached their play. Instead of caving in like they did when DA got behind, they began to recover from their mistakes, and come back with positive plays of their own-----incidently a first for this year.

What we must not forget, is that we are but one play removed from having DA back as a starter, (God Forbid).
