Mike McCarthy (GB)
Wins - 125
Losses - 75
Ties - 2
Win Pct. - .624
Playoff wins - 10
Playoff Losses - 8
Super Bowl wins - 1
QB-Aaron Rodgers

Sean Payton (NO)
Wins - 113
Losses - 72
Ties - 0
Win Pct. - .611
Playoff wins - 7
Playoff Losses - 5
Super Bowl wins - 1
QB-Drew Brees

Show me where the great discrepancy is. Similar won/loss record, similar playoff record, same number of SB wins, and two great QBs. What makes Payton all that much better than McCarthy

How about this: Neither are very good coaches and shouldn’t be considered for anything more than a coordinator position.

Funny how one can win 60% of their games with a first-ballot HoFer behind center.

Difference between Payton & McCarthy right now is eye for talent. Saints arguably had 1 of the best drafts I have ever seen in 2017 while the Packers’ draft have been kind of lackluster for a while now.

Since we are dreaming - I’ll take W. Phillips as DC
That would be great, except I don't think Wade is in danger of being unemployed soon. If he is in fact, someone should whack Stan Cranky upside the head. ;)

[1-Adam-12] Someone fired Wade Phillips
[dispatch] 1-Adam-12, sometime ya just don't have to teach stupid. :D

If we want Wade that badly, we’d have to hire him as the HC. And we don’t want that.

I would think the GMs and scouts might have an impact on the draft even more than the HC.

Who would you consider better than either of these two?

Took McCarthy 11 weeks to start Alex Jones, whereas, Payton would've been featuring him week 1. McCarthy's an idiot. Rodgers is just that great of a QB to overcome the head coach.

Who's eye for talent?

That's not the HC's primary job.

Spoke with a Packer season ticket holder just this morning. Alex Jones definitely deserves to be on the field NOW. But, his pass blocking is/was atrocious. That's the reason he sat for as long as he did.

I would rather a coordinator like DeFillipo. Although there's no measurable success, this is the trend in the league. Would rather have some young blood.

You know Packer fans that dislike Aaron Rodgers Huh.

Riiiiiight

Actually yes. Rodgers is whiny, aloof, and at times a punk. There are actually Packer fans that see him pout weekly & it annoys them. Is he a 1st ballot HOFer? Absolutely. But don't kid yourself, McCarthy's offensive schemes & system also put Rodgers in a position to be great. It takes both a great QB & a great system to see results in the NFL. McCarthy would be a phenomenal opportunity for this Cardinal team, especially with Rosen waiting to be taught.
