It seems to me that the offiense has no energy with Warner as the starting. I think McCown should shart.

As a reminder for your McCown bashers, he was I believe 6-6 as a starter last year. Not all new starting QB's are going to be like Peyton Manning.

Do you really think that Josh can 'energize' the offense? I don't see how his mobility could have offset Warner's accuracy today.

Thank you! God I agree with this totally. I know I was on the McCown Bandwagon before, but I really was hoping Warner would take this team places. By the end of the third quarter though, I was hoping they would pull him. After every play it sickens me to see him walk towards the sideline pissed.. he was very inaccurate at times today and on that pick he threw.. good god Johnson was open.. he just underthrew it. He took too long to find a reciever and his fumbling is a big problem (McCown improved on that last year)

Accuracy? There were a number of times the receiver was open today and he missed them. He dumps it off too much too when our great wide receivers are in single coverage.

Ridiculous. That just takes away the strong point of the team, a QB that can throw bullets to the 2 WRs. Boldin is on pace for 1400+ yards, Fitzgerald for 1700+.

I didn't think he looked good today. Maybe we are just gonna lose all our games and get lienhart.

Should McCown start? Not in my view.

I like Josh. But being 'mobile' isn't going to help him much in this situation. Josh doesn't have much pocket presence or very good accuracy when it comes to pass placement. Sure, he can run (when he decides to). But Warner isn't the problem here.

Even with Warner 'struggling' he is a far better QB at this point in time.

I know one thing... if I see Warner throw one more duck up there and fumble without being touched I am going to scream!

if I ever see Josh on the field again I will scream in agony. Him in the game is a sure sign we are taking our number for the Lienart sweepstakes. Please face the facts people, he is not a good NFL QB. No reading D, no leading receivers...he can't do it.

Despite mistakes and a horrific Oline, Warner managed to get us 350 yards in the air...when we click and put those numerous red zone visits in the end zone, we will be ok.

Josh however, can't do it. Please give up this ghost.

The problem with McCown is when the pressure comes he puts his head down and stares at the ground looking to run. He doesn't hang in the pocket and watch receivers.

Wow.... I can't believe this is even a thought.

What's the old saying, the most popular guy on a losing team is the backup QB.

warner has done nothing wrong, he avg's way more yards than mccown and isnt getting touchdowns like mccown. hes doing nothing wrong and theres no reason to pull him out. The Oline play and penalties costs us tonight game

Are we seriously having a discussion about the QB after that horrible performance by the Oline?

It doesn't matter who we have at QB right now because if you are a one-dimensional team, its very easy for DCs to stop you. I said this last year when Josh was getting too much blame (he did deserve some of the blame but not as much as some on here gave him ... ie swd). Games are won in the trenches and we are getting our asses handed to us on both sides of the ball (we did last year too).

I keep trying to explain the common sense of the game but for some reason some people just don't want to hear it. Until we can run the ball and stop the run on a consistent basis arguments like this are pointless

What are you talking about? He is one of the most positive spots on the offense. No run game, no blocking, and he is the first quarterback I have had confidence in since Jake in about week 1 of 1999.

But that doesn't factor in the two fumbles the numerous over throws and under throws.

Hey I am not ready to say put in McCown because I really do think it would demoralize the team. Today was not a good day.. no matter what the stats say. Kurt was not good today.

It does factor in the overthrows and underthrows. There were 13 incompletions, those are counted there.

Could Manning throw accurate everytime with this line. These other guys wanting McCown must not have watched much football last season.

Not really... There were times were Anquan had to wait on the ball to get to him. Had he been hit in stride on those sideline plays he could have run for plenty of yards.

My main concern was the fumbles though.

I didn't think that pass blocking was our problem today. Of course there were sacks given up, but overall it looked to me to be lack of execution. We were dinking and dunking. Penalties at crucial times with poor run blocking.

That is just as much of a problem. Manning would struggle with no run game as well.

Warner has hit more recievers in stride this season, than our entire season last year. Warner has faults. His fumbles bother me, and he is less than mobile. He is not currently our main problem. We must find a run game, and if we don't it will not matter who is quarterbacking.
