We would have still gotten in. The kid would have been DPOY if it weren't for that 4 game suspension. He still might get it.

Come on Wally his supplement was spiked. Nevermind that weeks before he tested positive he did an interview where he said he doesn't take supplements, he must have been misquoted.
He's a great player but I agree, cheaters shouldn't be rewarded.
Steriods don't really help play football anyway.

Sorry I was joking I completely agree with you. With Peppers the supplement he took actually DID contain a banned supplement. The ESPN report said he tested positive for a banned substance in a dietary supplement, NOT a steroid. ESPN said it was either ephedra or a derivative of ephedra. Ever since then, players have been claiming their supplement was spiked, in Peppers case the manufacturer admitted it contained a substance banned by the NFL.
In Merriman's case he hasn't even named which supplement or who makes it, PFT has been pointing out for months now this because he doesn't want to get sued for libel. He had no agent so when he failed the test, he had nobody to spin it for him, so he started asking teammates what to do and that's how it leaked to the press. Then he hired a lawyer who immediately started damage control. PFT has suggested that the lawyer is the one who put the kibosh on the spiked supplement claim realizing his client could quite easily get sued if he actually named a supplement and was proven wrong.
Great player and clearly not the only dirty one out there but he did the deed, got caught, and should not be rewarded for it.

I personally like to go over to the Grove as in Coconut Grove. Many cafe's and ethnic restaurants , all in a 5 block area. Hang out at Monty's or any bar in the Grove. Do the bar hop thing.
Now if you get up to Lauderdale or Boca area, that is another world.

If he doesn't he will be labelled a " turista ".
If Merriman played for the Cardinals, he would have either gotten into a car accident on the way to training camp or broken his hand reaching for a phone. He would have held out during his rookie season and never received some of that "darn good coaching", thus setting back his development at least 3 years.
No one in the media would have ever noticed him on the national stage and he would be sitting at home next February watching Antrell Rolle playing in the Pro Bowl.

Why? How do you know the other players aren't using illegal substances. Merriman is arguably one of the best defenders in the NFL and deserves this selection.
Agreed. The guy will go through regular testing from here on out. He will coninue to be a manchild. He deserves the selection.
