Hi Cheese,

I seriously considered making popcorn before I watched the show. :grabs:

Ten minutes in I'm thinking, "There's got to be a George Clooney/Dr. Ross character", when in comes the Brit. Best character you've got and he's going to be the one people tune in for. IMHO I loved him.

Was he written with a Brit in mind or did that come with the casting? Anyway, I think he can be the hook that keeps people's attention. (And I've already given him my own backstory: He was in rehab in Wickenburg where there were only 5 movies to watch in the community room and one of them was "Jerry Maguire" so that's how he became a Cardinal's fan. Or there was a Cardinals cheerleader in rehab with him but that's bad PR for our side. LOL)

I hated the directing, so everyone else will love it. That's a good sign.

I did keep screaming at the docs to put some gloves and protective eyewear on (!) but I know that's out of your realm so you are forgiven. Can't cover up the cute blonde doctor, can we?

All in all good first show. Since this was the "let's introduce everyone" show I'm glad that's out of the way as it makes for bulky writing.

So hearty congratulations are in order! I'm truly happy for you that you've got this one under your belt!

Hey All,

Just wanted to thank you guys for the congrats and watching last night. We not only won the demo/hour, but apparently we won the entire night! Now, we just have to make it grow, like a rash!

So whether you like it or not (and I know it ain't for everyone) if you could keep turning on your TV at the time while you leave the room or go out, the support is appreciated... and working!

Thanks again folks!

For sure, I wasn't home when it was on, but turned on the TV and left and recorded it so I could watch it when I get home.

Hopefully it stays on for 15 seasons like ER and you get all the royalties down the road.

Just gotta somehow work a George Washington song storyline into the show. Or something regarding the Cardinals....something really obscure that only ASFN will catch.

Congrats on the good numbers!

I watched it but I couldn't really get into it. I'll keep it on my Tivo for you though.

Watched for your name in the credits but never saw it. Which part did you write?

So someone will keep track if I DVR this, even if I never get time to watch? Count me in.

How many writers does this show have?! :D

i got to see the man falling through the ceiling being filmed. holy crap does 20 seconds take a loooong time to film.

oh, and i saved the entire warner bros lot from a fire. that's right, you all owe any viewing pleasure that was created on that lot to me. for eternity.

Gotcha.

I have seen it listed as formerly Miami Trauma.

Found this article about it too:

Bruckheimer Drama Gets a New Name
By Josef Adalian
Published: December 16, 2009

CBS has settled on name for its new Jerry Bruckheimer hospital-based drama.

The series formerly known as "Miami Trauma" will now go by the title of (drumroll, please)... "Miami Medical." The series continues to focus on top doctors trying to save lives.

CBS is no doubt hoping the new name will avoid any viewer confusion with "Trauma," the failed NBC medical drama currently on hiatus.

i lobbied for BLOODY TAN!

For some reason I get polled for Q-ratings all the time. If I get one with any of "your" actors, Cheese, I'm going to tell them:

They're trustworthy!
I pay attention to what they say!
I'd be proud to have them as a neighbor!
They are a good dresser!

They show me a little picture of the person in question, without a name as in "do you know who this is?" and ask the nuttiest questions.

"Would you eat sushi if he/she protested against Japanese whaling?"

Really enjoyed Friday night's episode, Cheese, especially since most of that d%&# expository dialogue is out of the way.

Here's my wish: That Alan Klein's heirs make a pile of dough. ;)

BTW: The actor who played the orthopedic surgeon. Don't know his name, but he's always terrific. (Just thought I'd throw that in here.)

Yeah he is great. Hopefully they use more of him.

However that whole sequence is tired. I've seen it in every medical show.

New young doctor gets stomped on by old veteran doctor.

New young doctor thinks old vet is wrong and sets out to find the answer.

New young doctor finds the answer/saves the day and shows up grumpy old doctor.

I still find it hard to connect to the main characters.

fair enough!

and yes, Angry Ortho is fantastic... funny thing is that he always plays hard-asses but is the nicest guy on the planet. A truly gifted actor who we hope to get in the show more in season 2... if we get there!

I think I first noticed Angry Ortho on West Wing. Joint Chiefs of Staff, maybe? To be truthful, I didn't know your lead-Brit-guy but I immediately said to myself, "He's going to be the interesting one." It's the look.

I need to be in Casting. I've got a whole stable of actors I love. (I picked out Mark Harmon when he was at Pierce College doing bit parts for Jack Webb. Also picked out Dustin Hoffman crawling around a VW and Keanu Reeves juggling cereal boxes. It's a gift. ;)) Right now the guy that's got my attention is on a new commercial where he spots a woman on a train and changes his ticket. Think it's a phone company? Anyway, that guy is going to be HOT. Because he is hot. And you heard it here first. Cheese, find out who that guy is and talk to your people!! Every female viewer in America will watch that guy.
