nidan, what was the last savvy decision that Rod Graves has made? The last one that worked out and made people say, "You know, I didn't see that coming. I'm surprised that has worked out as well as it has."

The two that I can really remember are David Boston and Anquan Boldin. Everything else either has been a no-brainer that anyone on this board could have made (wait and see if Matt Leinart is on the board and then pick him? Sounds good!) or worked out to be a total disaster (Calvin Pace/Bryant Johnson, going into the season with Jeff Blake and Josh McCown as starters, the trade down, being forced to draft two cornerbacks and a running back, etc.).

I don't think that Graves is a moron. They think he's in over his head at his current job and is far too often surprised by what is obvious to others who are paying attention. I'm not sure how you can see it any other way.

I don't want to know the last good decision that you think Rod Graves made, because you'd obviously say it was signing Tim Euhus. What was the last savvy decision that Rod Graves made that worked out?

You can believe that the roster is more talented than it was a few years ago (like from maybe when Rod Graves made the decision to gut the roster of any talent that happened to be there), but then why has the result been so poor? The product on the field is markedly worse than it was before Rod Graves took power.

Now why exactly did you decide to say that ? Are you trying to piss me off, if so you are succeeding.

I confess I don't have your supreme knowledge, in fact I can't really tell from a distance how good or bad Gandy is. For all I know he was in the wrong system for his skills or maybe you are right and he is no better than dog meat.

All I said was isn't it a little early to jump of the bridge and you start making snide comments and Cheesie starts shouting and screaming at me.

Really though the whole point of this thread is just exactly how stupid and incompetent Rod Graves is and Wiz and Grimm don't have a clue and get little say in the signing and drafting. Now Grimm appears to be incompetent to coach pass blocking.

In fact somebody suggested that his comment about looking for run blocking first proves that. In fact it suggests that Grimms [and Wiz] look to run the ball and that is hardly headline news.

Once again all I am saying is that isn't it a little early to panic ? For example I have heard comments over the last few months about how our current staff thinks our Oline was used incorrectly last year for the personel we had. It wouldn't surprise me if that was the root cause of our furst Oline coaches departure.

Because none of us knows the internal workings and decision-making processes on Hardy Drive, there is no way to answer this question. By mid-season we will all know if the hiring of Whisenhunt was a mistake or not, whether Gandy is a bust or a Saviour, and if the team is flourishing under the 3-4 alignment. All will be revealed. But as of this date, no one really knows.

Not to get all "Lost" on you, but Nidan and many others on this board are operating from a position of faith, while you are a man of science. I have to agree that I have seen nothing to make me sure that we going to be a good team next year, but I am trying to keep my faith that things will work out for the best.

But even if they don't, as long as the beer is kept cold at the stadium, I will somehow find a way to muddle through.

As I don't know either all I can do is give Wiz a chance to prove himself. Denny did leave him with a better squad that he inherited himself.

True. Even by dumb luck we should manage to get the right guy at the right time at least once sometime in this century. Hopefully, Whisenhunt is it.

The reason you catch so muck flakk about RG, Nidan, is I think because you are such an ardent defender of his. You seem to take a stance on the polar opposite side on purpose just to even the field. I cannot recall you ever admitting he did anything wrong. Not saying you haven't, but that's the impression that comes to mind.

I'm not saying you should be getting so much crap, but I think that's why you do.

I've had enough of this.

AZCB, you are a Bears fan masquerading as a Cards fan. Usually, when challenged, you dive onto another board here on ASFN and whine about being disrespected. You know what I say is true and I've read your whines. We also had a private go-around a while back about this.

K9, you're back on the tired old Rod Graves thing and twisting what people write into something different, then challenging them as if your version was their true stance. It gets old.

Joeshmo, you have become overbearing and act like you know everything and everybody else is stupid. It has become very annoying.

Cheesebeef, once again, "freakin' stupid" is unacceptable here. Take a break.

It's gotten to the point again where the unrelenting negativity makes it tough to visit here, even for me.

In the next few days, I'll make a few decisions. For now, I have other issues to deal with. I am not going to consult with any others. The overall board functioning is my choice and mine only.
