He isn't garbage. He's a solid backup who can start a game or two in a pinch. He's at least as good as Stanton and/or Gabbert. I think he's better.

"We" signed Stanton before Carson Palmer. Sequence doesn't matter as much as who the starter ends up being.

This is all part of the plan to sell out for a top draft pick in 2019. Only explanation I can come up with.

OR, Keim is floating this to the fan base so when we settle for Bradford or McCarron, we'll all be grateful instead of disappointed we missed out on Cousins. Resetting expectations.

I'll admit that the shoe hasn't dropped on Cousins yet, so I don't want to break out the torches and Frankenstein rakes just yet, but at least the other teams have had reported interest in a plan B that isn't atrocious. Broncos: Keenum. Jets: Bridgewater. Bills: Bradford. All three teams are also jockeying for position to draft a top rookie.

Meanwhile we're stuck here with the next best direction from reports being... Mike freaking Glennon. At least Somers said we'd look into "others," but man would I enjoy a report that we have a visit set up with Bradford, McCarron, or Bridgewater, or at least we've called their agents to tell them we might like them.
