Something.

I would be perfectly happy with a QB room of Bradford, Glennon, and say, Lamar Jackson or Mason Rudolph rather than throwing a rookie QB to the wolves right out the gate. Give them the same time a guy like Mahomes got, don't ruin them like Kizer probably was.
Holy poop, someone gets it!

maybe they want to carry three.some teams do.... and they want the rook to have to work his way up the depth chart...
if Bradford falls in week three...they probably start Glennon.... but if he falls in week ten,... then they probably start the rook
Jurecki, Somers, et al, have stated Cards will carry 3 on active roster.

I think it's hilarious that you think you have any comprehension of how the QB position from 1-3 on a team actually works. How many meaningful reps do you think a 3rd-stringer gets in the regular season? The simple answer is not even 1% of what is needed for a QBOF, to use your own misused statistic.
So if we end up with someone like Jackson late in the first round you want him going into the season as the only QB backing up Bradford? Not a great plan imho.

There is no logical reason to sign glennon. He has zero potential and he will not win you any games.

This is just horrible. Literrally anyone else would be better.

So are any numbers available on this yet? I was bummed we signed Gabbert until I found out we signed him for nothing. If this is a legit contract, this will have been a pretty sad day to be a Cards fan.

I would say any high draft pick needs to be the #2 QB, yes. Agree with Stout, the #3 QB on a roster doesn't get the reps needed to develop.

If Glennon is signing for the minimum, then I get it. But just wish we would use this money on building around the QB. Glennon is garbage and a back up QB of his caliber will be available after the draft... What is the rush to sign him now. If they are so afraid that Bradford will get injured, they shouldn't have offered him so much money. We are just right back in no man's land per usual.

They sure are. Anyone saying we're still going for a high-round QBOF has no idea what they're talking about. You don't go after a top rookie QB only to make them a scout/practice squad QB--which is exactly what 3rd-string QBs are.

Did you ever think that if the rookieQBOF shows enough during preseason that there is the possibility of QBOF being backup and other guy being 3rd QB or cut?

Their thinking is obvious and reasonable, however I wish it would have been someone who had some chance of developing into something more, like maybe AJ.

Well said. Agree with this.

O think they'd rather have guys they can discard easily, so they can draft a QB. No controversy in that QB room.

McCarron had the chance to showcase his skills every week to every scout in the league and he still couldn't get drafted before round 5. What round do you think he would have been drafted in had he gone to Eastern Illinois?
There's a reason he's still available

CB in the first, QB in the second. OL and WR in the third. At least that is how I'd do it. Unless, we move way up in the draft and can pick one of the top four.
