Does this mean no plans for a QB trade up? Seems unlikely we make a top pick 3rd string, maybe they have their sights set on day 2 guys.

I think SK will not trade up at this point unless his absolute top rated QB gets close to his pick. Fully expect him to key the draft come to him now.

Here’s an argument I’d like someone to make:

How does Glennon keep getting jobs yet Kaepernick can’t even get a tryout? Are people really going to argue that Glennon is better?

Kaepernick is never coming back to the league. He is probably talented enough to deserve a shot, but he blackballed himself with his politics, whether that's fair or not.

I'd probably have trouble finding another job in my company if I decided to use my position as a pulpit too.

(Let me just say, I don't support him being blackballed, but it's just reality.)

Total smoke screen move. I bet it's not even guaranteed money, just a one year deal for base salary. Now they have less worry a team will jump in front of them in the draft to grab a QB they want. Hell, I bet Glennon gets cut in the final cuts.

Brilliant move!

See, we all can read this how we want, but no one has a clue the reality.

Glennon couldn't even hold off Trubisky. What this signing means is SK will not make any crazy moves to get a QB in the draft.

None of these QBs are gonna be great. You all act like they are sure fire studs. Very average QBs . BPA available at 15 ....Rudolph in round 2. Why sacrifice picks for average

You have to have someone to run to once Bradford gets hurt. Signing him this early does make me believe that Keim is worried about his ability to move up for a QB.

100% the way the league works now is your rookie gets thrown in at some point year 1 wether it’s right or wrong. If glennon is the 2 the rookie will see no reps in practice and def won’t see any game time. There’s a reason KC made it so Mahomes was the #2.

You just made me spat up my coffee... bravo lol
Well we all needed a good laugh from one of the most laughable terrible days in Cardinals history. Lol & there have been some doozies.

I’m dead serious this is such a bad day it’s like a bad dream & it can’t be explained any other way. A immobile, injury plagued QB behind an Oline that can’t protect anyone, limited cap space to fix that Oline & a turkey necked John Skelton whom half his passes might hit the Coors light vendor in section 302 lol

And Warner couldn't hold off Eli or Leinart and Carson couldn't hold off Dalton. Glennon is a very good signing as a backup. He's a borderline starter that can fill in if needed. So much angst about the backup spot.

Would it have been a good day if Cousins accepted the $145M offer? Or if the Cardinals agreed to trade 3, 4, 5 draft picks to move up and get...Josh Rosen? I'm certainly curious what would have kept you from the proverbial ledge today? I get the distinct impression that there is nothing the Cardinals can do before the games are actually played that won't have some(many?) really despondent.

He is NOT a borderline starter. Come on. He's atrocious. He's lower than Stanton, IMO... and that's saying a ton because Stanton is warm garbage compared to Glennon's hot garbage.

Trade the draft picks for Allen or Mayfield. Go get some other loser QB for half the price to mind the throne for 8-16 games and spend the cap space on pieces that can help beyond 2018.

Write off next year for what it is. We’re gonna suck. But we could suck building for the future or suck trying to get back to 8-8. Keim opted for the latter. That means 2019 will probably suck too.

I agree, so we spend $145 mil for Cousins and he gets injured or trade the farm to draft a bust.

It might not be splashy but we are not in a position to gamble and splurge.
SK is prudent and is taking what he can get without overpaying. Cousins said no and SK moved on to plan B

Only angst because the starter is brittle which means Glennon will be called upon, perhaps for an entire season. SK had always loved Glennon so this isn't some surprise but it doesn't make the Cardinals any better than they were last year
