"I'm hearing internally, internally they are discussing Ray Horton's future with the Arizona Cardinals"

Of course they would but the way MJ framed it gives me some hope Horton isn't going anywhere.

I really don't think that's the best way to find a successful HC, but hopefully it works out for us.

MJ & Bickley also are talking about the possibility of Wiz purposely setting himself up to be fired because of possible friction of not wanting to fire some of his staff & even friction within ownership.

Yeah my guess is they are locking into Horton so that even if Whiz leaves/canned then he's the guy going forward. That is the continuity we have all strived for and allows Horton to locate the OC/QB he wants.

If he was hearing from a source within the organization that the Cards were considering promoting Horton, why didn't he come out and say that?

I would hope that Whis is classy enough that he wouldn't inflict that on his players. The defense is giving their all out there every Sunday.

That's what I was thinking. At least they are smart enough to keep him hopefully.

It still doesn't keep him from leaving & fulfilling his dream of being a NFL HC. IMO either Horton is the HC in 2013 or he's elsewhere.

Didn't hear the show being out of town, but my guess is they want something long-term in place with Horton sooner rather than later so that if heads roll whether now or next season then Horton is in place.

Personally, I'm down with Horton and bringing in Norv Turner as OC (they worked with each other in Dallas and Washington). Sign Alex Smith* and draft a pass rusher or OL top 5 and go to work.

*I'm in favor of Alex Smith only if paired with an OC that he's had success with in the past such as Norv Turner.

I didn't hear them today.

They're talking about friction within the Bidwill family? Over Whiz?

And while I'm thinking of it..... has Mr. B been seen lately? Has he been at the games? One of the things I've been wondering about is his health and how that could affect any decisions being made.

That is interesting...and it points to a possibility of something K9 suggested - if offensive changes are made and Whiz wouldn't be happy with them, he may go the buyout route instead.

Dont get excited.

They may be talking about whether or not He will stay as our DC after we dont fire Whiz.

I want Horton as our HC and have him bring in his own staff. 100% clean house (Graves included). New everything. This team is busted from the floor up. Horton needs complete control.

A guy who has never been a HC gets complete control? Say what?

Horton could be successful as the HC if we bring in a new strong OC. Norv Turner certainly would be an excellent candidate and I'm sure that there are others.

Rarely does a new HC gets hired before the new GM & forced to work with someone he didn't pick, that's just not the process & likely wont happen here either.

Happens all the time. Happened with Carroll in Seattle. Happened with Gruden in Tampa Bay (IIRC). I think Kubiak was hired in Houston after Casserly was on his way out the door. Happened with Shanahan in Washington.
