Based on what I read elsewhere was it not apparent that the only reason ESPN interviewed Ferguson during the game on the bench last night was that he was supposed to commit on air, likely to Arizona? It seemed fairly clear to me the sideline guy thought that was what was going to happen, he's committing and he had to wing it when Ferguson said I'm down to 5, could only remember 3 at first and then had some weird thing about needing to take 4 more visits but then said he probably didn't need to take them all and eventually concluded with he'd probably only take 1 more.

Also didn't seem to have a clue that he is not REQUIRED to sign an LOI in April, he can simply verbal wherever he wants and then sign a scholarship agreement when he shows up on campus. I'm still amazed at how few kids do that to avoid being bound to a school and having to ask out if they change their minds.

Why he's being offered basketball scholarships and not academic scholarships.

Dude has definitely mishandled his recruitment and doesn't know what to say one way or the other.

Ferg said he will still visit Kansas and Baylor. Would've been nice to be the last visit... Btw JJ will be the #1 pick. Not only will a school get a superstar for a year but he'll be repping that school when he's a star in the NBA. It'll be a huge victory for Kansas or Arizona.

If Ferguson goes beyond the Hoops Summit without committing, the optimism from UofA will fade away.

Hope JJ enjoys Adidas.

He was clearly the best player there they all knew it they were routinely doubling him which rarely happens in all star games.

I'd love to see him at UA for a season just to get to watch him play regularly on Pac 12 networks really hard to get a reading though it seems like his trend is towards Kansas.

I get the impression he is going to Arizona it just struck me that it sure appeared the only reason ESPN did that sideline interview was for him to commit and then he didn't.

But maybe they just picked him because he was uncommitted. Even Jalen Rose was laughing about him not knowing his own list and said that's why coaches get gray hair recruiting these kids.

He's good, deep range, great shooter, but he has no inbetween game. jackson on the other hand is special.

You don't have ESPN? KU has all their games on ESPN.

If Jackson picks an Adidas school at least he will have good uniforms to wear. I hate Nike uniforms.

I can see literally every Arizona game if I want to with the streaming, I don't think every Kansas game is on ESPN is it?

FYI Jordan Schultz is reporting what most have been saying Trier has informed the staff he's going pro. The interesting part is he says the staff is trying to convince him to stay and be a "true" first rounder next year.

To me makes no sense. first, I've heard they actually would like trier to leave because his style of play created issues(ballhog) and with their recruiting they think they're ok without him.

Two, even if he comes back and improves he probably goes later next year because the draft is much deeper. They said at the McD's game that NBA people think there are 8-10 lottery picks in the 16 class, add in others and it's not at all guaranteed he goes higher next year even if he presumably gets better.

But he's not officially in the draft.

NCAA also relaxed the rules about kids testing the draft (without hiring an agent), so they can declare and come back to school much later than they used to be able to. Not sure this is what's going here, but it's an option for any kid nowadays.

Didn't see it but apparently the big KU recruit Azabuike said that jackson told him at the game it's between MSU and Kansas for Jackson now.

I get the feeling Josh is having fun with all this and has been telling lots of people different things.

Yeah which is why it's weird some kids who aren't clearly going to make it are apparently hiring agents.

Daniel Hamilton hasn't yet but implied he would and Julian Jacobs has indicated he's considering which agent as if he's already decided he'll hire one. Jacobs IMO is USC's best player but very unlikely he gets drafted at all so I think an agent is a huge mistake for him.

I've said it for over a year, if Trier stays in the draft he'll end up a teammate of Kevin Durant.

Yes, literally every game not counting preseason is on ESPN networks with less than 5 only on ESPN 3.

Interesting as well was that Bridges told some scout site in an interview that KU had "all those wings leaving" before either Selden or Greene declared for the draft.

Ferguson announcing his decision at 6:00PM Arizona time tonight. Looks like he will commit to the UofA. I never thought Ferguson and Jackson would commit to the same school, so I am happy if the rumors are correct that Ferguson is going to pick the UofA. Jackson to Kansas is most likely going to happen too.

So not taking any other visits afterall so odd he just didn't commit on Wed but figured it was coming soon.

With the report that Trier is filing for the draft and likely to stay in it, makes sense.

Jackson is MUCH better than Ferguson but then I think he's much better than anybody in the class. Ferguson is good, Jackson is top 3 NBA draft pick good.

FWIW some place called nextuprecruits.com is reporting a source that Ferguson will commit to NC State. I don't buy it.

So that's twice now everyone thought he was committing and he didn't.

Apparently an April Fools Joke.

Should of figured when dealing with an 18-year old. Jason Scheer thinks he won't drag it out much longer.

I am actually starting to like the kid. Earlier in the day he posted he's always been a UNC fan. And a few minutes ago he posted shoutout to Kobi Simmons for reopening his recruitment go UNC.

So he's messing with the fans and poking fun at UNC at the same time.

I left his twitter page open last night and when I looked today he posted his top 6 and has now added UNC.

Either he's still joking or his recruitment is getting interesting.

Smart man. Could easily play his way into the first. He won't have to deal with the black hole known as Gabe York next year.

Well York might not agree with that. York 76 assists, Trier 31, even with the extra minutes(about 400) York played clearly Trier was more of a black hole than York was. Better player though.

Also what appears to be good news for UA, Markannen has pulled out of the Hoop Summit game. Said he's been sick 5 weeks and can't prepare properly for the game. He's been playing semi pro ball in Finland so I have no idea about the sick part but that should put to bed any ideas of going Nowitzki after a strong showing at the Hoop Summit.

I would guess at this point there's no way UA is getting both Ferguson and Jackson and might not get either of them. Gotta figure Simmons, Alkins and Trier all assume they're starting and Ferguson and Jackson would too.

Very athletic group that's for sure.

York was arguably the most inefficient player on the floor and many of us shots should've gone to Trier. The two also didn't like each other and Trier vocalized that to Miller. It was speculated that Trier would only come back if he was made more of a focal point in the offense, and it sounds like he liked what coach had to say.

As for Jackson, he wasn't coming as of last week, but T-Ferguson is still very much in play, even with Trier. Trier's presence does not hurt UofA's chances of the two.

Yeah I've never been a York fan I'm just saying if there was a black hole on UA last year it was Trier moreso than York IMO. You saw it as the year went on lots of Pac 12 teams starting to just double Trier when he got the ball because they didn't think he'd pass. Great talent but he looks to shoot first.

My personal opinion is with better athletes around him PJC will look much better on offense and they might end up going PJC, Trier and Alkins 1-3 next year with Simmons backing up PJC. I'm not a huge Ferguson or Simmons fan I think Trier is way better than either and I think Alkins is better than Ferguson. Ferguson great leaper can make the 3 but not the overall game. I'm a huge Alkins fan, if he's 2 inches taller he's a lottery pick IMO needs to lean out a bit but he's more D1 ready than Simmons or Ferguson who both need to get stronger.

Very athletic group.
