Absolutely will be watching the kid! He's got great size, strength and mobility - so they say... But, from all I have read, he has only operated out of the spread... has never really taken many snaps under center. Wonder if he can translate to the NFL brand of football?

He's one of those guys who tests my theory that when your parents give you a name like Blaine Gabbert, you have to be tough and good because you would otherwise spend your whole life being picked on.

he is really bad from what i have seen, horrible stuff on his tapes that i have seen so far.

Andrew Luck is very very very good and i like Christian Ponder as NFL QB.

Interesting... Kiper apparently has him ranked as the 2nd best QB in the draft, behind Luck.

He's operated out of the spread which is not what he's suited for.

He's a pure dropback passer with good mobility is what he is, watch now that I mention him he'll fall flat on his face :D

Anyhow, I really like the kid as an NFL QB, absolute cannon for an arm, hope he uses it tongiht.;)

One reason he's not talked about more than he is, is simply because Mizzou has had a very mediocre WR core this year IMO, he had much better stats his 1st year, which if you know the team makes sense.

Yeah it's not exactly a great name.

He's a tough kid, very poor fit for the spread which is why him going isn't bothering me in the least.

He'll make a much better pro than he does a spread QB, JMO.

I think whoever gets him is going to get a steal.

How likely is it that he enters the draft this year? I thought he would probably not declare for the draft this year.

You mean Gabbert or Ponder?

Kiper also predicted greatness for Jamarcus Russell, that he would be "Elway-like". Probably the easiest prediction of a bust ever. Whoever got this pick wrong is not good enough for scouting players.

I need to watch more of Gabbert, but what i have seen so far is not very good at all. When he needs to put touch on, the passes tend to hang alot, they would all be INT's in NFL, the safeties are much faster.

Much like the deep out throws we saw from Max Hall.

He said Gabbert. FWIW, I place zero stock in anything Kiper says... just like the rest, he is far more wrong that right...

Not sure what you are looking at, Kiper's Big Board has Luck, Mallert , Newton and Locker. Gabbert is not on it. Its on ESPN Insider dated 12/22.

I heard it mentioned on the radio today... Like I said, I never pay much attention to what Kiper says, however, it was mentioned today on ESPN Radio (on Sirius), that Kiper has Gabbert as the #2 behind Luck.

Watch Tyler Sash. I would like to see the Cards get him in the late rounds, but I don't think he will last until udfa are picked. Seemed to be a nice ball hawk.

The only Missouri game I watched this year was the Illinois game and he looked very good.

For supposedly a strong arm the guy sure rarely shows it. 6.58 yards per attempt is absolute crap, it equals a guy that dinks and dunks 90% of the time and still only has a 62% comp percentage(good for NFL average for college ball especially if you are dinking and dunking it). I have only seen him play against Iowa State and he didn't look good passing it or

Color me unimpressed.

Also there is two Kiper lists out there. One with just Seniors (which is the one with Gabbert @ #2), and one with all draft eligible QB's which puts Gabbert outside of the top 5.

Don't forget about DE Adrian Clayborn. He's had a quiet year by a lot of standards, but still looks to be an amazing pro prospect.

Gabbert is not a Senior. He is an underclassman. FYI. He could be a very good Qb but needs to go back for his Senior year.

Scout's Inc has him rated as the number 2 quarterback. They are apart of the draft section on the NFL page on ESPN.COM.

I am completely impressed with Christian Ponder and Andrew Luck. We need to get one of those two in addition to a cheap veteran addition. keep Skelton and Hall and make a great competition. Let the best guy win the position.

Two of the better QB prospects in a while (Ponder and Luck).

I'd say go with Clayborn and than pick Ponder in round 2. Or go with Luck round 1 and pick Cameron Jordan round 2.

These are the players i'm completely impressed with after watching college tapes so far with much more to go, i plan to watch some tape on most prospects (and in that order):

1) Cameron Jordan DT/DE
As polished as Alualu was last year. IQ, very hard to block one on one, shows agilty and explosiveness to also be a factor as passrusher, good in denying jump throughs, fantastic technique.

2) Christian Ponder QB
Best ability to progress through targets and manipulate zones with his head, accurate, smart, has good enough arm to play at next level. Mobile. Physically ready as well. Impressive touch. Makes the occasional mistake, so he is not completely consistent. Awsome dropback from under center and great hitch step to step up into the pocket. Works well under pressure.

3) Andrew Luck QB
Smartest QB this year and very polished player that makes almost no mistakes. Physically ready and very mobile. Great under pressure. Very accurate, sometimes can make inaccurate throws as well, but mostly consistent.

4) Adrian Clayborn DT/DE
Similar skills as Jordan, but not nearly as explosive and with that agility. But technically he is a NFL lineman right now.

5) Brandon Harris, CB
Man to man corner, good ballskills, is shutting down that side completely.

6) Austin Pettis, WR
Very polished and tough reciever that knows how to get YACs, great hands.

7) Quinn, DE
Awsome passrusher

8) Jimmy Smith, CB
Man to man corner, can press and has great ballskills and adjustment

9) Kerrigan, DE
Very polished end. Uses his hands text book style. Has no agility at all and no explosiveness, but everything else is perfect and what you ask for. Will make a good end or OLB in NFL i believe. Smart polished player that doesn't take plays off. Good motor.

The QB I'm intrigued about is CJ Kinnie from Tulsa.

Strong arm, great mobility though slightly undersized at 6-2 220. I've watched Tulsa play nearly every game the past few years & I think he has a future in the NFL although he's a JR. He's put up great #'s on one of top 5 offenses in the NCAA.

after the first half -- I am impressed

quick, compact throwing motion and he is putting the ball right on the money

passes have sizzle

if Gabberts YPA is low, its the offense, not his arm

Be aware: IA has always had a lot of trouble w/ spread offenses.
